Have been observing this trend from last couple of posts in reddit and social media.

There are a flurry of pics since last few days about Sierras breaking down and each and everyone of them have No number plates and one of them had temporary number plates.

Latest one being two incidents posted by Bangalore and Hyderabad traffic police, both do not even have temporary number plates. The number plate area is completely blank.

This makes me suspect, this is some deliberate sabotage by competitors.

Also there are many cars broken down on roads, but somehow only Sierra pics are taken, that too at very professional looking angles and quality.

Maybe even the police are involved?

Are Koreans Losing the plot in Engine Performance and Gadgetry to the Indians?

Looks like that is the case.

But the Germans (VW and Skoda 1.5 TSI) are still ahead of TATA in performance I believe.

Past few months I have been noticing a tendency by some people to forcefully declare TATA Sierra a flop.

Here are some hard facts about the trajectory of other Successful Launches from TATA Motors.

1. Nexon: First 6 months average Sales: 3-4k per month, Present sales: 18-20k per Month.

2. Punch: First 6 months average Sales: 8-10k per month, Present sales 20-22k per month.

3. Tiago: First 6 months average sales 2-3k per month, Present sales 6-7k per month.

4. Harrier: First 6 months sales: 600-800 units per month, Present sales 2.5-3k per month.

From these trends we can clearly see that TATA had launched limited variants and powertrains with Low Production Capacity at launch and using the data from these variants they have added newer variants with various powertrains like EVs .etc and then ramped up their capacity.

Sierra will follow a similar trajectory where now its sales are 7-9k per month due to Production Constraints, and if we go by the past trend, it will sell around 15-20k per month once the EV is introduced and Production is ramped up.

So before declaring something, do your research first.
