lost account for about 3 + years, am now trying to log back into it. Whenever I “ search for your email” for the correct user + email login, it says account found (check email etc, etc). Now, it is my stepdads email ( I was a kid) so I don’t have access to it at the moment, but I presume it should be in his email now? I’m not sure if logging in with Xbox has to do with anything so I also did that one for good measure. I know logging in with Xbox sometimes messes things up, but would it send to a different email that was not listed in any case(I’ve heard of signing in with Xbox having issues with ghost email accounts that aren’t accessible due to not choosing to sign up with epic games on Fortnite) ? haven’t had luck the last time I tried but I also believe we maxed out attempts.

when I was a kid, my Stepdad owned my Xbox account ( his email ). A lot of things happened and I basically ended up losing access to Xbox and the account for years and when I did get it back, my stepdad and I were not living together. When we all did end up getting back together, he said he had wiped/ removed his stuff from the Xbox account, but I am wondering if it is still possible to be logged into? he does have the same email and I do hold the same Xbox it was logged into, the sign in is just weird at times and im not sure if it even let us login as we had trouble doing that. would I be able to recover with Microsoft’s help? also, the profile/name were changed after a while, it has been 3+ years so does that mean it was deleted 🫩💔?
