Amy appreciation post

Just wrapped up the series and God, I love Amy so much.

It was the initial meet cutes between Amy and Jonah that got me invested in the series and the dialogue - "Tomorrow will be just like today and how do I know that? Because today is just like yesterday". You cannot not want to watch a series after such words.

Coming to Amy, I loved how she was so dependable, organised keeps everything under control (at least tries too). It was so wholesome until her divorce but I lost interest post she and Jonah got together ( some series have this curse where once the leads get together, it stops being interesting).

But I really loved the finale season. Her dilemma in choosing Jonah was so obvious. She "had to" marry Adam because she was pregnant and now she again "has to" marry Jonah because he's leaving everything behind him for her and moving to a completely new city. Her decision was so justified and it was so "Amy", thinking through all the possibilities and picking the safe one.

And I'm glad they were reunited too as she now knows she doesn't "have to" marry him, but she "wants to".

Layoff is scheduled. What next?

The leadership team has gathered to plot the layoff and everyone can smell it from far away and Blind is completely filled with this information.

I would like to know from the experienced folks - what should be done before the layoff, how will the job search strategy change once you are laid off, anything to be mindful about during the transition?

Though I'm prepared mentally, I couldn't hide the nervousness. Please share any checklist to successfully come out of this.

Thanks.

Hit 50L mark finally.

28F, 6 years in IT. In hand - 2.7 LPM

Spent most of my initial 3 years salary on family expenses and started owning my finances post that.

MF - 18 Lakhs

Direct Equity - 3 Lakhs (started actively investing in last 3 months)

PPF - 9.5 Lakhs

EPF - 3 L

FD - 4.5 L

Arbitrage fund - 4 L (for tax saving purpose)

RSU - 4.5 L

Savings account - 4 L

No responsibilities yet, so I'm planning to maximize my net worth before getting into any commitments.

Future plans :

Increase income by switching to better orgs.

Started NPS from this year on.

Diversify more into equity as my current distribution is majorly skewed by low risk investments.

Planning to create a dividend portfolio of 10 Lakhs to get 1 lakh in dividend each year.

I'm open to suggestions from the community on what I'm doing right or wrong and what are some areas of opportunities.

Thanks.

Came across a post on this sub, asking for some dad - daughter/ son relationship movies.

When I thought about the other spectrum, movies on mom, I could only think of mom - son movies like VIP, Raam, M Kumaran etc.

Do we even have any movies portraying the love between mom and daughter?

Why is this not talked about?
