Adobe Creative Cloud on Linux: sharing my Wine patches and progres

I've been working on getting Adobe's Creative Cloud apps running on Linux with Wine, and I wanted to share where I've got to (beyond just being able to download and open nearly all the apps).

Photoshop and Illustrator can edit, save, reopen and export small documents in my tests. I've also got some InDesign document/PDF workflows and Premiere-to-Media Encoder exports with audio working. The screenshot below is Photoshop 27.10 after reopening a PSD I'd edited on Linux.

It's still rough. There are crashes and hangs, video preview and audio issues, and some unresponsive menus. I've only been able to test on one AMD laptop (my laptop), so this needs more testing before anyone relies on it for everyday work.

I've put the 29 Wine patches, setup tools, screenshots and investigation notes on GitHub. The project has become much bigger than I expected, and I can't take it all the way on my own. If anyone wants to try it, review a patch or pick up a small fix, I'd love to see it keep going.

I also used some AI coding tools along the way, and the patches could use more independent reviews. This builds on Wine and its contributors' work. You'll need your own Adobe account and license, as I didn't include any Adobe apps or activation bypasses.

Is it true that you can’t use the full Adobe suite on Linux?

Ive switched to Linux recently from Windows and am loving it, but found it really surprising that no one has gotten the full Suite running yet, besides that Wine “patch” at the start of the year. Is it actually true that you can’t get the full thing running yet? If so, I wanna see if I can get it working for myself. If it works, I’ll open-source the repo on Github :)

Can’t find Codex pets for Claude Code

I know Claude Code invented the whole “pet” thing, but I can’t find them for the Claude code desktop app, and even on terminal I really don’t like how they work.
I found 1 GitHub repo that kinda goes into that area, but it’s not nearly as good as what I would want.
I’m beginning to build my own version for open source right now, but before I finish it I wanted to ask if anyone here has found a better solution or knows where to find those codex pets but for Claude code.

Codex MCP is muuch better for Claude than the Codex in Claude CLI integration

Personally I’ve tried both, and the MCP simply feels much better and more efficient for subagents.
Anyone else have this experience?

Claude lobotomized me, so I forced it to teach me lol

I’m guessing we’ve all noticed that Claude and Codex are basically making devs dumber, and noones really learning anything anymore.

Well, I made a shitty but functioning plugin/hook/whatever you wanna call it, that forces claude to tell me about the most important dev topics it used during the last session.
It’s been really helpful to me as a new dev who started vibecoding only a few months ago, and now can make some “tough” architecture decisions in the company I got a job at, that claude and codex fail to find.

I think it’s pretty valuable so I’ll link the repo below.

Have fun

A lot more details about how it’s made are in the README.

Wispr Flow is hella expensive, so I built an open source version.

Hey guys, so I’ve been using Wispr Flow for a while when talking with Claude code or Codex, but today I spoke with my boss and laughed at me when I told him I pay for transkription lol.
Essentially I’ve now made an open source github repo that uses parakeet as the transkription model, and works at around the same speed at 0 cost and practically no setup time.

I think it’s pretty valuable, so I’ll post a link to the repo below.
