So I just finished the entire red rising series. What a whirlwind of emotions.

I’m not going do a ranking but I still think the first is a classic to me. Just the storytelling of Darrow life and inner conflicts, plus the love for Eo’s dream. From his rise in ranks and battles to his confinement with the jackal not to mention the 10 years of wars and iron rains.

A lot of heartbreak moments with ares, roque, Cassius, Quinn, Sefi, pax and for me the biggest Ragnar. The list goes on.

You just see how pride and power is instilled in the golds. How they refuse to break the hierarchy of colours, the way titles and war is the cycle they only know.

I despise Lysander when I had some hope when he wanted to unite golds and stop the wars. But you can see his desire for power at the end and then cause a genocide. He became the very monster he accused Darrow of being.

I still love Darrows change in character and his arc. Realizing the shortcuts he took to fulfill Eo’s dream while sacrificing everyone around him.

I wonder how pierce brown will end the series but I hope on a good note. I do see Darrow seeing the vale. His character has developed is an amazing way. Excited for what’s to come!
