Grand Seiko SLGW003 Canvas

You would not necessarily think that a canvas strap would work on a Grand Seiko dress watch but I really like the combination . It is the Mustard color canvas from Postale Watch Straps and the contrast with the silver birch bark gives a different look to the watch.

Straps on SLGW003

I have been trying different combinations with the watch. So far, I took off the OEM as the deployant is less comfortable than tang buckles on my wrist. I am going to try some browns and blues next. Has anyone used non leather straps with this watch?

Grand Seiko 9SA4 Movement

As much as the dial of the Grand Seiko SLGW003 is alluring, the manual wind movement in the watch is just as appealing and I find myself taking off the watch to stare at it.

GS New Dive Watches

Has anyone seen the new Grand Seiko Dive watches ? I don’t live near a big city so a GS Boutique is not near me. I really like the green dialed version from what I have seen online.

Grand Seiko SLGW003

One of my favorite things to do with watches is change the personality by changing straps. I had this silver dial GS on a Grey Nubuck and went to a Carmine Burgundy color, both from Veblenist. Let me know your thoughts on the watch strap combinations as I plan to do more in the future.
Just one watch collectors opinions. Enjoy the day.

SLGW003

I recently acquired this watch which has joined my Atera Blue Spring Drive. I did the best I could with the photos and video but it hard to replicate the texture of the dial and the movement details. I have a 6.5 inch wrist in terms of the fit of the case to my wrist. I took off the Grand Seiko deployant and replaced that strap with a Grey Nubuck from Veblenist. Is it possible to equip the OEM strap with a tang buckle?

To those more familiar with the way Grand Seiko releases watches, I have a question on the 9SA4 movement. Do you think GS will release watches that are a larger case size (40mm) with this or a modified version of this manual wind movement in the future?

▲ 50 r/Watches

My collection currently has these five watches:

  1. Rolex Submariner 124060
  2. Grand Seiko Atera Blue SLGA025
  3. Rolex Explorer II Polar 226570
  4. Nomos Club Sport World Timer Dune
  5. Stowa Olympic Bronze 41

For years, I only owned black dialed divers but have a bit more variety to what I put on the wrist these days.

You never know when you are going to be surprised in this crazy hobby/passion of ours. Through the years, the majority of watches I have owned came from Omega, Rolex, and Tudor. They were mostly sports watches and many of them had that classic slab sided case on my 6.5 inch wrist which can handle about 50mm lug to lug. Even when I ventured into other brands, the cases tended to be the same shape.

Recently, I obtained a Grand Seiko, the SLGA025, Atera Blue. Having this watch in my wrist consistently for about two months, the difference in the type of watch case is most obvious. This case narrows toward the lugs and fits my wrist much differently than my other watches. Because of the case, the fit from the bracelet is much more pleasing around my wrist.

The fit of this GS case is not a small change for me. Fit is determined by properly sizing a bracelet or strap but the case shape determines much of the fit also.
