What to do with my ITR refund of Rs 50,000?

I recently got my ITR refund of Rs 50,000. What should I do with it? Don't want to spend it carelessly or invest in risky products like stocks currently. Any advice?

Has anyone heard of upcoming 'Great Indian Bond Festival'?

I read about a SEBI registered OBPP named Grip Invest launching an upcoming event named the 'Great Indian Bond Festival' which is happening next week from 18 to 31 August. It really seems to be an exciting concept as per me, and I dont think any bond platform has done anything like that yet in India. Has anyone else read or heard about it yet?

Large Digital Publishers Strongly Considering Blocking Google Search

  • Reuters, which like Politico derives much of its revenue from business-to-business offerings, said it is also weighing whether to block Google’s bot for its consumer-facing news product as traffic declines. “We are certainly looking at the economic trade-offs between search and AI summaries,” said Reuters President Paul Bascobert.
  • “The question was, should we do this, and what are the implications of doing it or not?” said Josh Muncke, vice president of generative AI at the Economist, adding that exiting Google entirely isn’t currently part of that discussion. “Google is a powerful force to be reckoned with,” he said. “Traffic can be choppy and declining, but traffic is still traffic.”
  • “Turning them off and blocking them entirely is 100% on the table,” said People Inc. Chief Executive Neil Vogel.
  • “There are now two audiences,” said Mark Howard, Time’s chief operating officer. “We’re thinking about, How do we superserve the humans when they do come, and how do we think about the bots as a secondary audience?”
  • Reddit, the online message board that powers a swath of Google search results, has discussed shutting off the technology giant’s access to its content for AI use, according to people familiar with the matter.

Has India done enough to make bonds accessible to retail investors? We're still far behind developed markets. What's genuinely missing?

Credit where credit is due, SEBI has done a lot recently to make bond investing accessible to retail investors, but it still feels futile, why would I take more risk to get returns that are undoubtedly higher but don't get automatically compounded? Even the secondary market liquidity isn't very high. Are you investing in bonds directly or have you gone back to MFs? Please share your opinion/experience.

Is anyone else facing this problem?

I invested 5% of my portfolio in corporate bonds, experimented a bit with SDIs as well for fixed income. Although I'm satisfied with the returns, I don't know what to do with them. They're so fragmented, reinvesting them feels like a pain. Just curious whether others face this too? Kindly share your opinions and experiences.

How do I maximise returns on bonds?

I started investing in bonds in early 2025. Till now, I've invested a good amount of money in bonds from A- to AAA rated, and haven't had any problems with interest repayments. But the interest I earn is just lying in my bank account, should I route this money into equity? But with the volatile conditions of the market and my risk appetite, I don't feel comfortable to currently put money into equity. Should I route it to debt mutual funds every month or reinvest in bonds? Or should I buy gold?
