Husband texted me how stressed he was to get the kitchen together on his days off. (He does all the cleaning I do all the cooking).

Took it off his plate and this was the last big dirty area in our home. It’s a tiny kitchen so if fills up fast and with kids the snacks flood the counters quickly and it cascades into not putting up grocery bags. Then fruit gets missed and rots. It happens so fast….

Don’t even get me started on baby items 😭

Here’s to hoping we don’t get like this again since the rest of the home is finally clean.

I posted a video yesterday but I feel photos show it better an I tried to get them in chronological order as best I could;

Flair of Success! and “still unfucking” apply, it’s been so so so long of clawing our way out of the junk and head space of I MUST keep everything.

There’s still more to do but for now I feel at peace (which ironically makes me anxious)

Two year decluttering that still isn’t done and I’ve always been at “max capacity” for stuff and always wanted more “stuff” it’s been long and hard to declutter, I must have thrown away 50 contractor bags of said “stuff”.
Biggest things that helped:

Husband and I reached comfortable paycheck to paycheck status. It all gets spent but bills are easily paid.

New baby, new motivation

Gave eldest son the master because I just kept filling it with STUFF

Downsized to a queen size bed

Realized my ADHD pattern of buy try abandon

Healed from a lot of poverty trauma

Time.

Doing little by little over two years, coping as I went and going on my terms.

Shame that my son didn’t have a functional room and was going to have a lasting memory or tripping over things to get into his space.

As we spent HOURS sorting Legos, broken crayons, hot wheels, marble run and dirt out it felt like it was never going to end. Then I remembered I felt the same way about the clothes (I had so many that didn’t fit me because I was convinced I’d lose weight and still want THOSE clothes which isn’t true) I felt the same way way about the trash, the hobby stuff etc etc.

I can breathe in my home now even though I probably still have too much stuff and more importantly my husband and kids feel safe and free too.

Finally got all 172 colors we currently have organized into small boxes to prevent super overconsumption. When beads run out of the box we have a container of the actual bags to refill. Keeps everything nice and organizer and prevents littles from “abusing” one color! I find it also promotes creativity for the same reason

Just got mine and my six year olds shipment for summer. Any and all cool ideas accepted!
