My landlord just notified everyone that they are no longer accepting personal checks to pay rent. They now require the use of an app called “Rent” which charges $1.95 for bank account/routing number or $4.95 if you use your debit card. The only other option is to use a money order but money orders cost money!!!

So the only way I can pay rent now will cost extra money. I live in Ohio and I don’t believe there are any specific laws against the use of apps that charge a fee but can this really be allowed?? Legal?

I’ve lived here for 4 years (I live alone) and I love it here but lately I just don’t know. It’s so expensive to rent anywhere and the economy makes it hard to live alone and now I have to pay money to pay rent.

Is it worth moving to Colorado? I just want mountains and nature. I don’t really have family where I live.
