Tips for moving day with two cats

We are moving to a house about a 5 minute drive away and we're not sure what to do with the cats. We are buying so not sure of the exact timings until the day. We have no family to leave them with for the day but could maybe leave them with either friends (probably in their carrier) or in a cattery. Or is it better to lock them in a room in the house while we move everything out? Picture of the little babies for tax.

How to clean kids sandals

How do I get my daughter's sandals a bit cleaner? The straps are disgusting at this point. I've tried cleaning with some soap, water and a toothbrush but it barely made a difference. They are a suede material.

Electric car hire

We've booked a car with Sixt from Bastia in August but we're a bit worried as so many reviews say they almost only offer electric cars. I've never driven an automatic and live in the UK so I'd rather avoid a new car type and driving on the other side of the road. We are staying in a tiny village on top of a mountain and I'm worried an automatic would struggle up some of the hills. Has anyone been successful in getting a manual petrol car there?

Is my local fox okay?

Today I spotted our local fox in the garden around midday, which is unusual. It looked a bit slow and its fur is darker and sparse at the back. It stared at me for a while and I get the sense it's not doing great. After a quick Google it might have mange or it could just be its fur shedding for spring. Does it look like mange? If so, what is the best course of action? I am in Sussex.
