Cemetery in Central-Europe
Cemetery in Corsica
Dear corsicans, my question to you is; Why does your cemeteries look like a street in a small mediterran town?
With all due respect, it might be bizarre for a non-corsican like me, but I'm sure it has reason behind it. Or are the cemeteries like that somewhere else too?
Hi! I wonder how the local people in Corsica would react if I travelled trough the island by speaking Italian.
I'm thinking mainly in the corsican speakers: how do they see Italian speakers? As something friendly or quite the opposite?
Hello!
Has anyone had any experience with collecting a hire car from one of the ports?
We are looking to arrive by ferry and collect a hire car but I can't seem to see any offices at the ports and those which are nearby don't seem to be open over the weekend, is this correct or am I missing something? My Google also suggests that you can't just pick up a taxi at the ports on arrival, is that true too?
We have the option of a villa in the south that has a Sunday start or a villa in the north with a Saturday start so I'm trying to work out the logistics before booking.
Any help is gratefully received!
Thank you
We've booked a car with Sixt from Bastia in August but we're a bit worried as so many reviews say they almost only offer electric cars. I've never driven an automatic and live in the UK so I'd rather avoid a new car type and driving on the other side of the road. We are staying in a tiny village on top of a mountain and I'm worried an automatic would struggle up some of the hills. Has anyone been successful in getting a manual petrol car there?
Hi all! First time in Corsica I have no drivers license but I’ve been to Sardinia so I love the beautiful waters surrounding.
I will be snorkeling / freediving. Should I just stay in Ajaccio and take boat trips or is Porticcio better for beaches ?
Ideally I would love to wake up for a swim without having to walk too far.
Congratulations to the people of Corsica on this important step. From the Basque Country, we follow this news with interest and respect. Seeing recognition for a territory’s specific identity, language, and culture within a broader state framework is always meaningful.
Whatever the final outcome of the process, this vote represents dialogue and an acknowledgment of Corsica’s uniqueness. Wishing you the best as the discussion continues, and sending warm regards from another land that deeply values its own culture and traditions.
I’m heading to Corsica for a week and staying in Calvi as a base. Need your help/suggestions with -
I'm unable to rent a car because most companies require a French/ EU license held 1+ year. I have a recent French license but 7–8 years driving experience abroad. Sooo any: local rental companies in Calvi OR agencies more flexible with foreign experience
If I can’t rent one, what are the best places near Calvi accessible by train/boat/tours/walking? Open to hidden gems too.
If I do rent one, what places are a must-visit?
What’s worth doing in/around Calvi besides snorkelling/scuba? Hikes, boat trips, canyoning, food/wine, anything local and funnn.
Thanks in advance :)))
Salute!
We're planning to visit corte via train and are wondering what's the best way to get from the airport bastia poretta the the train station. On Google maps, it seems that the closest Station is lucciana-olivella and i can find this Station in the train schedule on train-corse.com. Or plan is to take a cab to Lucciana and board the train there. Or is better to take a cab to casamozza train station? Does going to casamozza have any significant advantage? Do you have any other tips for the trip?
Thanks in advance!
