When can I tell what gender my fry are?

Basically what is says on the tin. I want to know when I can kinda tell what gender my fry are.

I have some guppy fry which are bout 2 weeks old now (maybe 3, not exactly counting) but they are all about 1 centimeter in length. From what I can see they've all got those wide fan/triangle butt fins that the females have. But there is no way I somehow got all female fry in one batch right?

So when should I expect to be able to tell if my fry are male or female? And what is the ratio of male to female in one batch?

Help- guppy fry becoming balloon???

This is a guppy from my first batch of fry. Today I gave the entire tank frozen food (that i had thawed out). 2 types, frozen daphnia and frozen 'cyclops' (says its copepods on the back) from the Ruto frozen fishfood brand. Did not give the entire cube I cut them into 4 parts and gave only one of each.

About an hour or so after I did that I come to observe my aquarium. And then I see this couple weeks old guppy just absolutely rounded out. Like a little fish balloon. Little guy is currently quarantined in a little plastic sauce thing (there has been no sauce in it ever don't worry).

Is this dropsy, something else or gluttony? And how worried should I be?

quick edit: there are Several balloons. I have let the baby back into the aquarium because of this.

Transparent shrimp turning yellow??

So I recently bought some mixed colour neocaridina shrimp. Got two transparent ones in the batch, with little opaque white spotting on top of them. Thought they were really neat.

Well in the time since I've had them they have steadily been turning yellow. Both of them. This is the bigger one that has been turning yellow faster. Sorry I couldn't get a better picture.

I know this isn't their exo skeleton hardening since the colour change has been happening for around 2 weeks (how long i've had them). Nothing similar is happening with any of my other shrimp.

Is it just them growing? Showing better coloration since they don't have to compete for food with as many shrimp as at the breeder? Are they sick???

Please! Why does it seem like 2 of my shrimp fell into food dye??

Snail eggs disappearing?

So I've not had an aquarium for very long but one of the first inhabitants of it were some hitchhiker snails that got in there with my plants.

I've identified both species, mini ramshorns and bladder snails. Now I've got no problem letting them be in my tank, so I haven't taken to doing anything to control their numbers yet. Honestly I do want the population to get a little out of control so I can get some assassin snails and have a sort of mini ecosystem of prey and predator.

However I've had 2 clutches just vanish. Both clutches were on a 'breeder box' i got for my guppies (retiring its use after the remaining clutch on it either hatches or disappears since it doesn't seem to be doing me any good).

They were rather large clutches, not anywhere near hatching and now they are just gone. One without a trace and the other still has a few eggs left, like something has been eating it.

Have guppies, neocaridina shrimp, or other snails been known to eat snail clutches? Because that's the only way I can explain this to myself.

Can shrimp have different egg colours?

So I'm a new shrimp keeper, decided to get randomly coloured shrimp so I don't get too attached in case I mess up and they die.

Today I saw one of my dark brown shrimp with the characteristic swollen tail and it's tossing about some small brown balls in its swimmerets. Are these eggs? I've only seen depictions of shrimp eggs as these orange yellow things, but then again I haven't seen pictures of darkly coloured berried shrimp.

Sorry for there not being a picture my camera is not good at all.

Fish disappeared?? (Mentioned dead fish, no pictures)

Got some guppies recently. One of the girls had a difficult birth a couple days ago, half the babies came out dead. Ever since then she's been laying on the bottom of the tank. She was still moving around, gills and flippers active, just didn't come up for food with the others.

And today I cannot for the life of me find her. She hasn't jumped out of the tank, I can't find her corpse, and I can't see her in any of her previously used hiding spots or anywhere in the tank.

I have other guppies, 2 (for now) pond snails, and several mini ramshorn snails (i think). Is there a chance that the snails or other guppies ate her? Or do I just need to wait until she or her body shows up?

How close to due date?

How many days away do you guys think the grey guppy is to spawning? She is by far the Roundest guppy I've seen irl but I can't really tell how much of a wait there will be until she spawns.

Also she is in a Breeder Box with a friend because she was freaking the hell out before I put the other guppy in there. I want to know a rough timeline so I can remove her buddy before she has her fry so I dont stress her out and so her friend doesn't eat the fry before they can drop into the bottom compartment.

Guppy with fear of other guppies?

So I bought some guppies yesterday, floated them for about 20mins, and then released them into my planted and cycled tank.

I got 2 males and 3 females but one of the males is acting a little weird.

He noticeably stands out because he is the only Red Dragon 'breed' in there. One of the reasons I got him is because I love the Red Dragons but also because I noticed his fins were a little torn up (maybe the other guppies snacked on them?) and got worried about him.

And now instead of swimming beside the females and trying to flirt with them (like the other male is) he is actively hiding among the plant growth and avoiding the group. He also moves noticeably slower than the other male but I think that is just because his fins are larger and flowier. He also isn't as active as the others during feeding time. His attention is on the food but he is skittish of the others and doesn't dive into the fray to try and get some so he isn't eating a lot.

Any advice? Preferably some that isn't removing the other male? Cuz I already got attached to that one and my mom named him Rogue (Red Dragon is just referred to as Red Dragon in case he doesn't live)

Random observation about my colonies.

I've noticed that whenever I feed my isopods something that contains more sugar (as a treat of course) like an apple core or fruit peels (I avoid citrus don't worry) a couple of days later they start breeding like crazy.

I notice this more easily in my P.Leavis Dairy Cow bin because of their size (and cuz u can tell if they are male or female by the butt spikes). I'm wondering if anybody else has noticed something similar? Or if this is just confirmation bias of some sort. Maybe something else is affecting their breeding behavior and making the males more active in this regard.

But given the fact I've seen 2 triple stacks (and even more pairs) within 5 minutes of observation and this has happened before I do think its the sugar.

Thoughts?
