I'm sure it's been covered before, but lume is disgustingly terrible.

2 pro divers, the left I received June 26, the right I received June 19th for fathers day.

Both watches exhibited the same poor lume when received.

I applied my own lume mixture to the one on the right - strontium aluminate w/ uv glue with a 2 : 1 ratio.

1st and 2nd photos are both of them fully charged for 60 seconds with a 395nm UV light

3rd photo is 10 min later - the left is already completely dead

4th photo is 40 minutes later

The right one with my lume is still readable with dark adjusted eyes after 9 hrs.

I researched different dials and hands, but I cant see spending upwards of $100 extra for a $50 watch, or even trust their lume would be any better than my $5 mixture and 10-15 minutes of time.

Crazy impressed with the pro diver so far

Woke up Wednesday morning and zeroed to time.gov at 6am

Spent Wed till this evening on my wrist - a little over 85 hours.

From loading/unpacking everything, setting up camp, hiking 10 mi, kayaking & fishing 10 mi, then loading/unloading it all, and putting everything away.

Needless to say, it was quite a bit of activity, and a lot of arm movement, especially the kayaking and fishing.

Just measured it against time.gov - and it's sitting right at 2 seconds slow.

I absolutely did not expect it to maintain this level of accuracy.

I definitely do not like the terrible lume but I will fix that later. Other than that, with the NATO strap, it was incredibly comfortable on the wrist.

I'll rest it dial up tonight and see what happens in the morning with the time.

How it started & how it ended

Me and the boy, 3-days, 42 miles kayaked, camping in the wild, then beer. Awesome Father's Day weekend.

Quick question about NIB Pro Diver

My sons just gifted me one for an early Father's Day gift. Came from Amazon with Amazon.com as the seller (not 3rd party)

It didn't come with a manual, or cloth that I've seen before. It came in a white outer box and a yellow hinged box. There was only a card in the pocket, and a yellow rubber tag on the bracelet.

Also, the lume is a very faint green, I was under the impression the new lume was supposed to be blueish. There was just a white sicker on the back glass with a 9digit code (s/n maybe), and the rotor is unpolished steel with NH35A, 24 Jewels, and TMI stamped on it.

Does this seem like a new old stock item or is it a fairly recent build?

I removed the bracelet to see if they still stamped the date there. The answer is no, they do not. Time for a nato strap.

Anyway, thanks in advance

*** Google and Grok both said the metal spring hinged yellow boxes with the plain cardboard interior (no fabric covering), and plain foam cushion, puts production from mid 2022 to mid 2023, before invicta switched to the sliding and two piece boxes.

So it is a new old stock item and not a return as I was thinking

Baby-G BGD-5650

I'll admit. I'm not much a fan of digital watches but they do have their place. That said, I just picked up this 5650 with solar, multiband, and backlight- coupled with a great 38mm width and excellent legibility - it is quite possibly the perfect digital watch.

I have a 7" wrist and the fit and look is great. (with 18mm NATO strap)

I have 3 other full size G-Shocks, all with the same features, and wear them while doing more strenuous outdoor activities, and they do absolutely everything I need and expect of them but, to me, they're just too big for my liking

New glass for the fishies

Almost 20yrs later, MDV-102's, now with sapphire double dome. (Seiko skx013 crystals)

Not that the old ones were terrible, but a couple of scratches still easily visible that triggered my OCD.

MTD-1080 The last analog Casios I purchased

That was back in 2017-18. They only had 3 color pattern options. I didn't like any of them.

So I bought the orange & grayish, and the black & silver...

then swapped them around. Still one of my most worn watches.
