Grey ghost.. new arrival
Ordered the Grey dial MDV-107 from Creation Watches on Thursday, and it arrived yesterday. I had a gray / silver bezel waiting in the wings and finished it up this morning.

I've had the black one for about 3 years. The blue is a recent pick up. Now that I have found this group, mods will be forthcoming.
My parents take VERY good care of their things. They have bulky phone cases, stress about little scratches on their cars, and don’t allow drinks on the couch. Since I’ve gotten into watches I’ve become obsessed with people who wear their watches in any situation, and how they usually survive decades of wear.
I decided that my Duro would fill that role for me. I don’t wear it every day, I have other watches, but it is the one I’ll wear in any situation. I’ve decided to not worry about it and bring it along for anything. 9 years later and it’s holding up amazingly.
That is all. Gang.
Hello everyone, finally bought a Duro and wanted to say this is such a dang good watch. First dive watch and nato strap (had to cosplay James Bond of course lol). Really excited to see different mods and straps in the threads 🤘
I have a Duro that has passed. The minute hand has stopped and won't restart. I have had several in the past that did the same thing. One i returned to casio for replacement... one i threw out... and two others simply started working again on their own. This time I'm going to attempt a resurrection.
To complicate things this Duro has a 50cSt hydromod... this is what I'm going to try:
Remove the movement with dial and hands attached
Carefully remove as much silicone oil as possible
Carefully clean the dial and hands with soapy water. Yes. Water.
Immediately blow it out
Clean with a Quartz or electronics cleaner while avoiding direct dial face contact of possible.
Blow out
Repeat steps 5 and 6 from various angles.... let the dry in various positions to help ensure no water or cleaner remains.
Test with fresh battery... if it works.. let it run 24 hours then back in the case she goes for a rehydromod using 22 or 20cst.
This is ultimately an experiment for the hell of it. The movement cost nine bucks and worst case I replace it, the hands, and the dial...
Think I'm nuts? Probably right.. Save this post if you're curious how it turns out a few days from now! I'll take some pics along the way...
I think the new beveled crystal makes this guy my new favorite Duro... but don't tell the other 14... also going to add a 2.5x Cyclops this weekend.. Duromariner on deck!
Got the Long Island watch bracelet, so worth it!!!
My first Duro mod was swapping the Blurro movement so I could have a blue dial Pepsi. What was leftover was a black dial blue bezel that I ended up liking as much that I treated it to the double dome and ceramic bezel treatment. Can anyone recommend a seller that has ceramic bezel Pepsi?
Tuesdays have become Duro day for me …. Along with Saturday, Sunday, and Monday lol
NEW "style" build to add to my collection. I have two Black on Black Duro's already. One fully murdered out, the other "oem", both on FKM Rubber straps and both with double domed sapphire crystals from Crystal Times.
This one is different. Standard Black on Black, but I used a beveled edge sapphire crystal from Long Island Watch. Look how awesome that bevel it is! Also pair it with the "H" / Oyster style bracelet. This thing has no damn business looking this damn good!
u/islandwatch Marc - you source some damn good quality parts for the Duro! Thank you.
