Hey guys, as a fellow watch dork, I spent some time researching a pool and beach watch. I have other pieces that could do the job, higher end, but I wanted something that looks good, can take a beating at SoCal beaches and pools, and still looks as ravishing as I already do. I landed on the Casio Duro.

I just picked up a $2,200 Longines HydroConquest, and the readability on that thing is insane. I can see everything on it. The Duro gives me that same feeling. Does the Duro have AR coating? If not, whatever glass they're using is super readable. I'm getting no glare at all, like it has double-sided AR.

It's comfortable, not heavy, and easy to read poolside and at the beach. I can beat it up with zero worries, and if it dies I'll just buy three more.
I'll be upgrading the strap, and yes, I'm one of those guys who will spend twice as much on a strap as the watch is worth.

Update: Wow. First time posting in the Longines sub and within minutes I’ve got randoms calling my watch fake like they’re the FBIs horology division. Ive bought and sold watches for years, Chrono24, all of it, my whole life honestly. Seiko subs, Citizen subs, even the Omega crowd, nobody’s ever come at me like this.

For the record, check my other pics, it’s a legit quartz model. My mistake, I didn’t realize this sub only accepts automatics with a notarized birth certificate and two forms of ID.

I bought a Neptune on offer up and I needed links. I bought some and they sent me a neat sticker, hell yeah!!!

Six months of hunting for a Lorier. Tirelessly. Obsessively. You know how it is.

Then one day OfferUp. Bad lighting, dirty watch, shot from some weird angle with a flash like the seller was trying to make it look worse. Most people scrolled right past.

Not me. I knew exactly what I was looking at.
Two accounts. A little social engineering. Next thing you know $180. Done.
Full kit too. Box, signed owner’s card, all the accessories. Clean as a whistle once I got my hands on it.

I was a little skeptical about a 39mm diver at first but this thing wears perfect on my 7.5” wrist. It’s basically a bonsai dive watch. All the presence, none of the bulk.

Patience pays, boys. Let’s go!!!

After 6 months of flipping watches, I finally scaled up enough to afford a grail piece. The whole plan was to buy and sell, stack the profits, and eventually have enough to land an Alpinist and it paid off.

I get asked for trades all the time. This made me chuckle.

Honest take: Citizen has been slept on, and I’ve been one of the offenders. I’ve been strictly Seiko and Swiss for years, snobbish about it, really. Then I saw this watch and picked it up for an obscene low amount. Looking at it now, I’m confident this piece is easily 3x what I paid.

The dial finish is beautiful. The rehaut is laid out crisp and legible. Nothing busy, everything makes sense. There’s a hierarchy to the design that actually works. My aging eyes appreciate the legibility, even if I’m squinting at the smaller stuff now.

But the real story here is the fit and finish. For a watch at this tier, it’s genuinely astounding. The case feels substantial, the strap is solid, and everything lines up the way you’d expect from a premium piece. This is Citizen reminding everyone why they deserve a seat at the table.

I’m genuinely glad I bought it and happy to post my first Citizen. So, can I join your crew?

This was from a gentlemen’s uncle who passed away and left it to him. He sold all his watches and I received this as a purchase. What’s this go for?

I picked this up from a huge Dexter fan who changed bracelet to match the show as closely as possible. He needed cash, so I got lucky. I was going to swap the bracelet back to stock, but I decided to keep it on it gives the watch a story, and honestly, every watch has one.

This is getting out of hand. Offer up doesn’t do anything since these guys pay $500 a month for business ad and get to spam at will. Facebook is getting better every day.
