Geiranger, Norway Sightseeing

Visited Norway recently, and my SPB121 was an excellent travel companion. Taken from the Geiranger Skywalk railing with a few seconds of courage. Usually I'll treat this as my dress watch, but it was fun to get it out in the mountain air like it was intended to be!

Spring bar for clasp adjustment

Hello, does anyone know where I can source a spring bar for the micro adjustment section of this clasp? Watch is an Alpinist SPB117. Or what the dimensions are for this part? Thanks!

[SPB532] trying out grey croc on this one

Thought about the classic green/brown alpinist and wondered if a white/grey would work. Do you think this works?

Say hello to Alfie [SPB155]

After 3 years of contemplating, I finally pulled the trigger on the SPB155, now my ultimate GADA 💯

Turning 40 sometimes gives you realizations in life, and in watches! 😆 I suddenly decided to consolidate my humble collection and focus on beautiful and valuable pieces that do not break the bank. Of course, I still long for that Tudor Black Bay One with its iconic snowflake hand, or the Rolex Explorer I, but this particular piece taught me the value of appreciation, and most of all, contentment.

My previous GADA was the SPB143, the OG one without the lume pip at 3 o’clock. There was nothing wrong with it. It was the perfect diver for me. My only concern was, while it qualified as a GADA, something in my brain said that as a diver, it’s more of a tool watch than an everyday staple.

Thus, after 6 years of enjoyment, I decided to part ways with my trusted 62MAS homage, and replaced it with the Baby Alpinist. Once I saw it on display and wore it, it was over.

Green is my least favorite color. It’s ironic that I chose this as my daily driver, but I thought that this particular color best expresses the “Alpinist” heritage of Seiko. The fume dial is a stunner! Even the most professional photos online do not do justice to how your eyes will twinkle when looking at it in the metal. The 38mm case size sits perfectly on my 6.5 inch wrist. If I would have one minor comment, it’s that I would’ve wished that the Baby Alpinist didn’t have a date window.

Never did I realize that there will be one piece that will give me the feeling of joy and contentment. Never did I realize that at 40, I would be learning about how to be grateful and content with what I have in life, through a watch.

Cheers, everyone! 🍻

Regulated and ready for the trail

Going on a trip to the Appalachians with the company of this Baby Alpinist alongside my hamilton khaki field and Henry Archer Nordso Glacier for the next few days to enjoy a few days off hiking, waterfall watching and fourth of July festivities.

SCVF005 question

Does anyone own an Alpinist SCVF005 from new that can confirm the clasp had the Seiko logo on it or not please?

All the research I’ve been able to do doesn’t show a single picture of a clasp with the logo, and I’m aware that a lot were changed or may have had factory replacements that didn’t always have the logos.

However, ChatGPT and AI suggests that were supplied new with a signed Seiko clasp, hence why I’m asking anyone who has one they bought directly from Seiko when they were originally released.

Alternatively if anyone can help with original Seiko catalogue pictures that shows the clasp, I’d be very obliged.

New NATO Strap from Arklin

I’ve been rocking the bracelet on my Alpinist since I got it, but recently wanted to support a small business that just started called Arklin. Found them on TikTok. While not a true NATO strap, this is the first NATO I’ve been comfortable and happy with. The material is great quality and super comfortable. Made me fall in love with my Alpinist all over again.

[SPB503J1] My first Alpinist and love it, any straps recommendation?

Got my Teal Alpinist last weekend, it's a real stunner.

Though as usual with any watch I buy, I wonder which custom strap/color will be great on it.

Don't take me wrong, I like the metal bracelet and it looks scratch resistant but I like to change sometimes from stainless to rubber or mesh.

Baby Alpinist on nato?

Just want some opinions. Does the color scheme of this nato in particular go well with the green Baby Alpinist aesthetically? And I'm aware it looks tight, but it's quite comfortable on the wrist. Lol

First Watch

I'm leaning heavy towards an Alpinist as my first watch. I went and looked at an SPB505 and really liked it. Am I crazy or does the compass not align with the numbers? The loose compass doesn't bother me as much but not lining up perfectly would probably bother me. Is this something I just need to accept if I'm leaning towards a Seiko?
