Which direction to take/how to improve?

We had been using AI to generate thumbnails (I know - shame!) and my partner did not like it.

We switched to this style of thumbnail he created himself.

This video is called Is Rigetti The Dark Horse Of Quantum Computing (and I added a previous AI thumbnail for comparison). The video is about whether Rigetti will be successful with its approach to quantum computing.

Anyways, is the thumbnail my partner created better than the AI thumbnail? And what can we do to improve?
