Can Kdenlive Be Used to Create Short-Form Content Like Reels and TikToks

I’m wondering what kind of content I can create with this software. Can I use it to make short-form videos, like Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts?

I also want to choose a specific niche and create short-form content around it. Is this software good enough for that, and what kinds of niches or video ideas would be good for gaining views and building an audience?

Can my laptop run DaVinci Resolve, and what should I upgrade

Hi everyone, I’m from Bangladesh and I’m a beginner who wants to learn video editing using DaVinci Resolve.

My laptop specs are:

  • Laptop: HP ProBook 450 G5
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8250U
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 930MX (2 GB VRAM)
  • Storage: SSD

I downloaded DaVinci Resolve, but it lags quite a lot on my laptop.

I want to upgrade my laptop so I can learn and practice video editing more smoothly. However, I don’t have a big budget right now.

So, what should I upgrade first? Should I increase the RAM, upgrade the SSD, or is the GPU/CPU the main problem?

Since I’m from Bangladesh, I’d also appreciate it if someone could give me an idea of what upgrades would be reasonably affordable here.

Also, is it worth upgrading this laptop for DaVinci Resolve, or would it be better to save money for a different laptop?

Any advice from experienced DaVinci Resolve users would be greatly appreciated!

Beginner here Is Kdenlive good enough for freelancing, and how should I practice?

Hi everyone,

I'm a complete beginner in video editing. I recently downloaded Kdenlive because I wanted to start learning video editing without using very demanding software.

My laptop specs are:

  • HP ProBook 450 G5
  • Intel Core i5-8250U
  • 8 GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce 930MX 2 GB
  • SSD

I'm mainly interested in editing short-form content like Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts.

I have a few questions:

  1. What are some good ways to practice video editing in Kdenlive as a complete beginner? Are there any types of videos or projects you recommend recreating?
  2. Is Kdenlive good enough to become a professional video editor?
  3. If I want to start freelancing eventually, can I realistically earn money using Kdenlive?
  4. What settings should I use in Kdenlive specifically for my laptop to get the smoothest editing experience?
  5. Should I use proxies or any other performance settings with my hardware?
  6. Are there any good Kdenlive tutorials or beginner resources you would recommend?

I'm not trying to become an expert immediately. I just want to learn properly, build some projects for a portfolio, and eventually start looking for freelance clients.

Any advice from experienced Kdenlive users would be greatly appreciated!

Beginner with CapCut: I have practice footage, but I don't know what to edit. How did you learn

I've decided to learn video editing, and I'm starting with CapCut. Since I'm a beginner, I downloaded a lot of free stock footage to practice.

The problem is that when I import the clips into CapCut, I just stare at the timeline. I don't know what to edit, where to start, or what I'm supposed to be practicing. I've watched several beginner tutorials on YouTube, but I can follow what they're doing without really understanding why they're make those editing choices. As soon as I open my own project, I feel completely lost.

Did anyone else experience this when they started?

How did you actually practice in the beginning? Did you recreate existing videos, edit random footage, or follow some kind of structured exercises? Also, is CapCut a good software to learn editing fundamentals, or would you recommend switching to something else later?

I'd really appreciate any advice, practice methods, or beginner exercises that helped you improve.

Thanks!

I already have copywriting skills Should I stick with it or move on to another skill

i can write Facebook ads, sales pages, landing pages, product descriptions, website copy, and social media captions. I also use AI as part of my workflow, but I don't rely on it to do everything.

Lately, though, I've been questioning whether it's still the right path to invest in.

For those of you working in copywriting, do you still see a strong future in it? If you were starting from scratch today, would you continue building a copywriting career, or would you invest your time in a different skill instead?

I'm looking for honest, real-world opinions especially from people who are actively working in the industry.
