Just published a book about my family in Calabria

After over a decade of interviews, research, writing, editing, and reliving my family’s remarkable journey, I’m excited to announce the release of my book, From Cannolaci to the Brickyard.

This story traces my parent’s path from a small village in Calabria, Italy, to the Brickyard neighborhood of Lynn, Massachusetts. It is inspired by the memories and stories told to me by my parents, years of historical and genealogical research, and the imagination needed to bring their journey to life. It has been a labor of love, and I’m happy to be able to share it with all of you.

I’ll be announcing details for a Book Release Party very soon, and I hope my family, friends, and everyone who has supported me along the way will join me in celebrating this special milestone.
You can check out the book now on Amazon.
Thank you to everyone who encouraged me, shared family stories, answered questions, and supported me with your enthusiasm throughout this project. Your encouragement has meant more than you know. ❤️

Anyone try a hardcover

I ordered 2 hardcover proofs. Amazon said both were delivered, I only got one and it was damaged. I don't know who to complain to but more than that I'm worry about the quality of the hardcover. There was a hole poked in the binding. Looking to see if anyone had sussess with it.

MAGA Mondays

I'm begging The Bulwark to give Will Sommer his own podcast. And find better co-hosts. No shade to Tim & Sam on their political takes but they make the MAGA content unbearable with the constant interruptions. Fever Dreams was a great show and I think something similar would do well.

Kindle version format question.

My ebook has a functioning navigational Table of Contents, chapter links work correctly, and the manuscript converts without errors. However, neither the KDP browser previewer nor Kindle Previewer shows the book title at the top of the page or the location/page indicator at the bottom.
Are they supposed to be generated by Kindle rather than being part of the manuscript itself? I didn't use Kindle Create.

For those who have published Kindle books recently:
Does Kindle Previewer show the title/location indicators?
If they are missing in Previewer, do they still appear correctly on actual Kindle devices and apps after publication?
Is there anything in the manuscript or KDP settings that controls whether they appear?
Thanks for any insight. I'm at the final review stage and want to make sure I'm not overlooking a formatting issue.

What should I do if I find spelling errors after I submitted for publication?

I found a few spelling errors when creating my kindle version from my print version. Now I want to go back and fix them on my print edition. Is it ok to just upload a new version. Do I need a new edition. Number or something?

Oh no lost my crochet mojo

I’ve heard of writers block but this is ridiculous. I’ve started 3 projects. None are sparking joy. An amigurumi, a collage and a mini temp blanket. At least the blanket is steady and keeping me sane. What are you working on? I need ideas/inspiration.

Hello,
I'm having trouble with formatting the margin. In the word doc they are correct with the odd pages having the wide margin on the left and evens on the right. When I put it in the previewer the margins get swapped, The narrower margins are on the outside. I'm pretty confident I have all the correct settings. I hope that makes sense. Any ideas of what is going wrong?
