My Australian test cricket development plan

This is just something I drafted up for a bit of fun. Obviously it's impossible to predict form, new players developing, and retirements, but I started doing it for Smith + the cartel and decided to just keep on going for fun (until Cam Green retires, which is obviously unrealistic to know what the team will look like then). Other: Need help writing a clue

I'm trying to make a clue with the answer "commit".

After realising that "lightspeed" or "the speed of light" represent c, and "mass" represents m, I'm left with "omit" and the definition for "commit", and a way to indicate to add m and c to omit.

Something like this:
Add the speed of light and mass, omit investment (6)

Gives a maths equation sort of vibe. Feels sort of clunky.

Would you guys say that's acceptable as a clue?
How can it be improved, any ideas?
Maybe the definition? I don't know
