The ‘Subliminal Messaging’ Theory

Remember in the Girls Next Level podcast episode when they were discussing the scenes where Kendra was buying her condo, and they both agreed that Hef/Kevin/E network was actively using subliminal messaging to manipulate the audience into believing that Kendra was the most popular and well-liked cast member?

It couldn’t have been that both Holly and Bridget were pretty one-note overall, that Holly came across bitchy even back then, or that Bridget’s weird little-girl act at 34 was off-putting to a lot of viewers. Kendra’s popularity didn’t need a conspiracy to make sense—she was young, gorgeous, impulsive, goofy and spoke in inadvertent punchlines, had a messy backstory, and a family who was more than willing to be on tv.

Even on rewatch all 3 had pretty much equal screen time, and Bridget especially had tons of episode plots dedicated to her own side-quests.

Or does anyone else believe the ‘subliminal messaging to make Kendra the star’ theory?
