Discovery of the century. Ferrero Rocher boxes are the perfect size for Warhammer brand paint pots.

Had these boxes lying around since easter last year and I noticed my paints always came out "thick" because even after shaking them they had been laying upside down inbetween sessions (I'm new to this be kind) now though they have a dedicated box and that makes storing them a lot easier.

My newest project. Heavy intercessors and terminators.

I've also come up with a rule for a personal touch I'd like to add.

Every set I'll give my favourite unit in a set a deathwatch pauldron. Love deathwatch veterans sporting their pauldron so I gave 1 heavy intercessor and 1 terminator a pauldron.

Finally done with my first set of RG intercessors.

Rough patches here and there but overall I'm very happy with my first ever set of minis. Only thing left that I can do is a little bit of cleanup on each model but again very happy to be done. Just something I've been doing every now and again whenever I had some time to kill.

Now I just gotta find what I'm going to buy next. An Apothecary, terminators, techmarine and redemptor dreadnaught are currently things I've been eyeing.

Show me your RG Apothecaries.

An Apothecary is the next model on my list once I am done with my intercessors so I thought I'd ask here for some inspiration.

Not looking for any crazy kitbashed stuff just want to see what people did with the base Apothecary kit in terms of colours, weapons and helmets. Like did you use the absolver bolt pistol or the surgical tool?

How do you guys feel about iron halos on RG units? Too decorated or not?

The RG are known for not having all that many adornments on their armour unlike other classes save for the skulls of those birds on deliverance they are tasked with sneaking up on as training but for something like a veteran would a sleeker or more unassuming iron halo also work?

Who needs the ultragrind ordeals in SM2 when raven guard have arguably the coolest cape already.

Capes give you every possible advantage.

This weeks stratageam had it out for me today

I think the worst part of this was how the hellbrute shot somehow pulled me forward instead of knocking me backwards like it should've. Either way nothing I could have done here. Feel like even my teammates felt bad for me watching this and I had the gene seed on me to.

Took me 6 hours but I'm very happy with how all my figures came out. Gave half of them back pockets and 2 of my favourite figures beaky helmets. Still deciding if or where I should put purity seals and other ornaments on them but overall I'm very proud with my first attempt at building.

Now I just need to get paints ordered and I can give them the colours to match.

Went through the online store and spoke on the phone with some guys at my local WH shop to get everything I would need to start. Super excited to finally start building and then painting.

Brushes are a M Base brush for bigger coverage and an S layer brush for those smaller details.

Been looking through paint colours for my Raven guard intercessor veterans with deathwatch pauldrons and talking with my local WH shop and I think I have a good selection of paints picked out but just thought I'd ask here what people thought before going forward and getting them all ordered.

Primer/Undercoat:

Chaos black Spray

Base paints:

Corvus black for armour, gun grips/trigger and just generally the main coat of paint on the figures

Corax white for helmet and RG pauldron edge/logo

Retributor armour for deathwatch pauldron logo and gun aquilas

Phoenician purple for eye lenses (I think purple eyes are extra scary for ravens)

Rhinox hide for belts/pouches or gun straps

Khorne red for gun casings

Iron hands steel for chest aquila, gun mechanics/muzzles, backpack exhaust vents and deathwatch pauldron base

Khorne red for gun casings

Shade paints:

Nuln Oil for filling in the black recesses on the deathwatch pauldron

I've been going through lots of different videos, both with great results but I thought I'd also ask in here as well to get some answers. I'm leaning more towards painting with the model apart so I can access parts more easily instead of having to fit a brush into a possibly awkward position.

Also added in my very first painting attempt on an ultramarine which the guys at the WH shop let me paint and keep for free. Rough patches here and there but I like it for my first attempt and can't wait to get more practice in.

Would there be any paints you peeps would recommend for Raven guard marines before I buy them? My current plan is to go with corvus black for the base/undercoat/armour, leadbelcher or another silver type paint for the Aquila, gun parts and the deathwatch pauldrons and then Corax white for the helmet and RG pauldron logo
