First time with evidential medium

My father recently passed away from cancer. It's worth noting that he was an atheist, believed that death was like before birth, and was very rational about it, as is my own atheism. However, since his passing, my beliefs have been truly shaken, and I have many questions about what happens after death, where he is, and so on.

For the first time in my life, I met an evidential medium. I have no idea how it works, what level of accuracy to expect, etc. I received some information that seemed accurate, but several were rather general, while others were quite precise but not enough to truly surprise me. I must admit I don't really know what to think. I had asked my father to participate, to tell me about certain things if he was indeed present, and it didn't happen. Does this seem normal, or should I continue my research and perhaps approach someone else eventually?

Hello everyone. My father is currently hospitalized for advanced esophageal cancer. He has always been very sharp-witted, with an excellent memory, until a few days ago. He has been in the hospital for about two weeks, and initially, he was given Dilaudid for the cancer pain. It didn't seem to be working perfectly because he still experienced quite a bit of pain at times, but he was normal and very aware of what was going on. For the past four or five days, the Dilaudid has been changed to morphine and Decadron. Honestly, it's going very badly. The pain and nausea have never been better controlled, but he says things that are out of character for him, he imagines things, is confused, and constantly makes gestures with his hands. We thought the Decadron was the problem, so the doctor stopped it, but even with the morphine reduced, he is still confused.

He had an MRI today to make sure everything was okay with his brain (a previous scan showed it was normal), and when he came back from the exam, he was very agitated, incoherent, and wanted to leave the hospital. Anyway, have you had similar experiences with painkillers, specifically whether such changes are normal and possible? We're not sure what to do anymore, especially since the cancer is already a huge source of stress. Thank you so much.
