Hung up on scammer to call co, they called back the minute I hung up. How?
This evening i got a call, portedly from AT&T. But, there's a special offer that even my local agent didn't offer me. I ask if I can keep my device and #. He said ofc. Then asked me to sign into my Tmobile app and read my account #.
At this point, I had to pause. I asked if he was a scammer. He denied it, vehemently, and offered to connect me to his supervisor, or cental office and give me his employee#. As if any of those ppl would no also be part of the scam?
I know i should've hung up at this point but I was still looking for the red line "this is a scam" sign.
I gave my account #, then he asked me to put in a request to transfer my phone # and read him the 2FA info. No sir!
Then I got a notification from tmobile to call them. I did, and spoke to a very nice man about the sketchy call. He confirmed my instinct was right.
A minute after I hung up, the scammer called me back! I said you're a scammer and hung up. How did they know??
