What kind of milk should I add to my smoothies?
Hello all!
I recently invested in a blender because smoothies are a good way to get plenty of vitamins and the like by sneaking in veggies and other things that are good for me. I’m admittedly a very picky eater :,)
I’m currently using just regular whole milk because thats what I keep at home, but I’m wondering if an alternative milk might get me more of the vitamins I need to make up. Would almond or soy give me more protein or something? Or is regular cows milk just ok? I’m new to all of this and am looking for advice! Similarly if anyone has a good smoothie recipe to try I’d love to hear it!
Thanks everyone!
SMOOTHIE SHOP LIKE A SUBWAY
I’ve been making smoothies for a couple of years now, and over the past year I came up with an idea that I genuinely think could work.
I want to open a smoothie shop with a concept similar to Subway, but for smoothies. All the ingredients would be displayed right in front of the customer, like different milks, fruits, nut butters, protein powders, seeds, supplements, and other add-ons.
Customers would choose exactly what they want, and the smoothie would be made fresh right in front of them from start to finish. Everything would be fully transparent so people know exactly what’s going into their drink instead of the usual “healthy” drinks loaded with hidden sugar and syrups.
The idea is to make smoothies that are actually healthy, customizable, filling, and made with real ingredients.
Whats ur opinions?

Tips for healthy smoothies - is sugar a problem for you?
Hi,
occasionally I grab a smoothie from the store and sometimes if I'm motivated enough I even mix some at home. But as I don't drink them as frequently I just recently came to my mind that most of the ready-to-drink smoothies aren't quite healthy because of all the sugar in them and missing fibers, and almost none vitamins left in it. And if you don't know that probably the ones you're making at home aren't much healthier as you throw a bunch of fruit together. I do know now to add more vegetables, but how do you handle it? Any more tips or do you just drink it for fun, regardless of whether they have good nutrition, vitamins or not?
Avocado banana smoothie has been my go-to for 30 years straight
A little trick is to throw in some blueberries for a nice twist. (I use the Canoly 3 in 1 juicer btw.)
swapped my acai bowls for an ube powder recipe and my blood sugar is so much better
I thought I was making a healthy choice getting a purple fruit bowl after my workout, but those cafe acai bowls are pure sugar bombs blended with apple juice. A single bowl has more carbs than a plate of pasta, causing a massive fructose spike and leaving me exhausted by noon. I wanted a thick purple breakfast bowl that wouldn't kick me out of ketosis, so I swapped the fruit for a root vegetable. I blend a bag of plain organic ube powder with unsweetened almond milk and vanilla whey protein. It makes a thick cake-batter texture that completely fixes my cravings without ruining my macros for the day.
Tried making a cafe-style layered green smoothie at home
Smoothie King Tips not received
I frequent Smoothie King 3x/week for my toddler’s breakfast. I once heard years ago that the employees don’t receive the tips that are made in the app. This morning I handed the employee $10 cash as a tip and said “I heard you don’t receive tips from the app, is that still true” and she confirmed. Can anyone confirm this that has worked there? I want to take care of the people that serve me but rarely carry cash.
Breakfast in Ojochal this morning
Been traveling here for over 20 years but somehow had never been to Villas El Bosque for breakfast. Great elevated eating area with views of the Pacific Ocean
Great service and amazing food! Restaurant is managed by a chef from French
Breakfast Americano, coffee and then a “dessert” of guanabana fruit
Just got some kale. Do I need to cook it before freezing for smoothies?
reddit.comWhat ingredient randomly made your smoothies way better?
I added frozen mango to a smoothie this week and suddenly felt like I unlocked premium smoothie settings
Now I’m wondering what other random ingredients people swear by. Fruit, spices, protein stuff, weird healthy powders, anything
Protien Mango smoothies - What can I add?
So I'm looking for a mango smoothie, sorta like a breakfast smoothie with a good amount of protein. Right now I'm thinking about adding frozen mango, frozen cherries ( for sweetness, not a fan of banana ), Protein Greek yogurt ( Protein powder is kinda expensive so this will have to do ) and milk. I want to keep this to an easy recipe that will take a short amount of time but will also taste good is there anything I can add?
I tried a almond milk smoothie made from strawberry, banana and avocado.
This was at the Belvedere travel Oasis in Illinois.
I blended up a whole plastic spoon in my smoothie bowl and ate it anyway.
Was too depressed to care, it blended in with the granola and felt kind of hardcore. I know theres already “a spoons worth of one in our brain from bottled water and blah blah blah” but whatever. I feel sick but pretty cool at the same time. I dont think i’ll do it again but I had all the ingredients to make a totally new one, and the time as well. I hope my body knows that when I did that it was partly so I remember if/ when it tries to manifest again after I leave this awful flesh prison that I. don’t. want. to.
