Does anyone have experience or advice with adoption?

My husband and I have been trying for a long time to have a baby. We’ve done six rounds of IVF and only got three usable embryos. Two tested normally and one test was inconclusive. The two normal ones ended in miscarriages, giving me five total. We have one more embryo to try next month, and if I’m being honest with myself, I am not expecting it to work. We’ve very superficially looked at adoption, but I think at this point it might be the only option.

I expect some judgement for this, but, no, we do not want to foster. We want a closed adoption with an infant or toddler. We are willing to travel domestically.

We live in the New Orleans area, and I’ve noticed there are so many adoption agencies. We don’t really know where to begin.

The brioche swirls make some good sweet snacks

Brioche swirls (sliced like a hamburger bun and lightly toasted). Berry cream cheese. Blackberry compote (made with Aldi blackberries).

My first ever dahlia!

I bought four variety bags of bulbs at Costco a few months back. This is labeled Mingus Alex and it’s a strong one! Most of these ones are budding, while the other variety are still growing. It’s much darker than the bag shows.

What is this?

This was not here yesterday and it’s only on part of the garden. When it’s touched, it gives off what appears to be brown dust, like a fungus would. It sits atop dried grass clippings. Is it harmful, how do I treat it, how do I prevent it?

I mostly buy my proteins at Costco (I love my vacuum sealer). However, I just can’t pass up a good deal.

Any suggestions for a recipe? I typically don’t buy skin on chicken because I don’t like the skin, but my husband will eat anything.

Yesterday it was fine. Today it’s… dead? Two are like this, right beside each other. The surrounding ones are totally fine.

The first picture is what it looks like right now. The second picture is the plant on the other side of them, which is what it looked like yesterday. I watered them yesterday.

I don’t know which variety this is without going to check my chart.

I want to start composting, but our property has one fruit tree that rarely loses leaves (loquat). We have plenty of lawn clippings and pulled weeds. We live in an area where most trees keep their leaves throughout the year.

I want to get a tumbler due to limited available space, but see that it requires more “browns” than a regular compost pile. Do I put out a neighborhood call to ask for sticks and leaves? Do I just use grass, but let it fully dry before adding it? Do I add something else to offset the grass clippings?
