I tried out my Ninja BlendBoss Blender for the first time this evening and that thing is LOUD (and powerful). I severely underestimated the noise it would make. Definitely recommend. Now to the issue, I live in an apartment and want to use my blender often but extremely worried about disturbing my neighbours. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can dampen the noise?

I think I’ve settled on a blender I want to get, and it is the Ninja BlendBOSS. I’m looking for a blender that can make smooth, lump-free smoothies. I’d like to know how the Ninja BlendBOSS preforms with foods like milk, yogurt, fresh/frozen berries, ground flax and chia seeds, soft veggies like boiled carrots, cauliflower, and beans. Small seeds in berries is fine but I just don’t want large strands of fruits, veggies, or skins from beans.

None of the portable/smaller/single serve blenders on the market seem to be a good option imo. I bought an immersion blender a long time ago and never opened it up. It is a kitchen aid immersion blender. I’m trying to gain weight and really want to make smoothies (with a smooth texture and no chunks) and I’m wondering if an immersion blender can do the same job or better than your typical blender that you would use to make a smoothie. I would get a vitamix if I could but that’s not an option for me atm. If anyone has tried this, please let me know how it went.

Wondering if I should move forward with obtaining a CC from CapitalOne, would appreciate some advice.

I’m 21 and want to build up credit, and this would be my first CC. I’ve gone through the pre-approval process and was approved for the Guaranteed Secured Mastercard, but have yet to send the security funds because I’m still weighing my options as to where I should get a CC from.

I’ve tried applying for a CC online at the two banks I’m with. I was denied at one, and am forced to go in-person to the other to verify my identity (which I obviously haven’t done). ETA: My credit score is in the mid-high 600s which apparently isn’t good. This was through transunion I believe.

Is paying the security funds worth it? Or should I reapply for CC through the banking institutions and save myself the hundreds of $ that I’d be paying in security funds.

21F with history of heart problems. ASD repaired with surgery and AV stenosis. Not on any meds, or have any allergies.

I’ve been experiencing chest/back discomfort off and on for well over 2 years after using an exercise machine at a gym. Episodes are always on the mild/mild-moderate side, I’m able to function as normal but highly uncomfortable sometimes. Not going to list all symptoms here unless specifically asked. Never felt typical cardiac symptoms like tearing pain/severe stabbing pain, radiating neck or jaw pain, etc.

Yesterday, out of the blue I’ve started experiencing chest and pain on my lunch break and it worsened as the day went on. Chest pain would worsen with jerky movement like going from standing to sitting and the pain felt like it was coming from the sides of my sternum. Felt tender-ish. But not really replicable pain. I work as a waiter and always picking up/bending over/lifting things, I’ve always been able to do my job properly even with the pain and discomfort.

Leaning forward was also another huge trigger for both the chest and back pain. It felt like pressure would build up behind/around the sides of my sternum and had constant discomfort between the shoulder blades, though it was less painful and more of a persistent dull ache/tension.

I ended up going to the ER last night as I was at my wits end with what I’ve been experiencing. Got admitted and spent the night in the hospital on a cardiac monitor. Dr said everything was fine (only did EKG, bloodwork, chest.x-ray and continued BP monitoring but not an ECHO since it’s a small hospital) and is going to speak with my cardiologist which I don’t visit until late next year. (Last cardio appointment was last fall, cardio said I’m stable from a cardiac perspective but have been dealing with elevated BP since 2024. When I went to the ER my BP was high in both arms, though there was a difference the dr noted between the two. As the night went on BP eventually fell to more normal range and I was discharged this AM.

My diet and exercise habits are not the best and I know those have a role in my BP but unsure about the pain and discomfort. I’m not overweight nor have any known physical ailments that could cause these episodes.

So for all the costo sufferers, is it fair to call this costo? Thanks in advance, sorry for the lengthy post.

I’m looking for a portable blender that is able to make completely smooth smoothies and be able to blend things like tofu, boiled eggs, fresh/or frozen berries.

I also want something that isn’t going to break/be difficult to clean, or that would need to be replaced earlier than anticipated. I do plan on using this blender everyday, multiple times of day even.

So I’ve been dealing with what appears to be dysphasia for a few months now and have been sticking to food that require minimal chewing/easily dissolve in my mouth, liquids and purees. However, I have a family event coming up soon and was required to pick out an entree and I don’t believe it is something I am able to eat/swallow easily. I don’t want to make a scene at this event or just not show up. I’m scared to talk to anyone about this because I know it’ll just spread like gossip amongst family&friends. Has anyone dealt with this issue? & if so how did you deal with it/conceal it from your family and friends. Thanks.

Hello all.

I am looking for some advice as to what to do. I am not receiving any imessages on my iPhone 16 plus after attempting to transfer my number (failed obviously) to an iPhone 17. I own both phones and recently decided I want to keep using my iPhone 16 plus, so I signed out of iCloud, etc basically bringing it back to its original state.

Throughout this past week or two I haven’t received any messages. Ive tried searching online for help but have kinda come to a dead end. Granted, I may not be the most tech savvy person so this could or could not be an easy fix. A suggestion I received was adding my phone number to my apple id under settings > my name > sign in and security as it is only showing my email address but I can’t cause my phone hasn’t been able to receive messages and I need a verification code.

I’m wondering if anyone here has been through this situation and what you did to resolve it. Thanks.

I’m 21 and trying to apply for a student CC and have been denied multiple times. The reason for the denial is based on information in my credit report the bank received from a credit reporting agency.

My transunion credit score is poor but there doesn’t appear to be anything on it.

I don’t have any student loans, car payments, etc. and I met the income requirement for the CC I’ve applied for.

What would be the reason for being denied? Should I try to apply for a credit card through another bank? Thanks.

To those who are, or have lived at foundry lofts in the past, how was your experience? Is there anything you didn’t know before moving in that you wish you knew about sooner? Did you have good flatmates? Thinking about applying there but would like to know more. Thanks.

So I may have to move urgently (within the couple days-1 week) and I'm looking into moving into Foundry Lofts. Any brock students who have lived there how long can I expect to hear back/move in after submitting my application? i see on the wesbite that they are leasing for summer/fall.

Anyone know of a family dr in either Welland/thorold/St Kitts area accepting new patients? Woman or man idc, they just have to be accepting new patients and have a reputation of listening to their patients. I’ve struggled with previous Drs dismissing my symptoms. TIA :)

I withdrew from 2 spring courses and submitted a refund request last Thursday. Haven’t received anything news about my refund request since. Is anyone else in the same boat and awaiting a refund???

How can I go about getting a full refund for a spring course that just started today?
