USAA glass claim is a joke!

I’m in CO where windshield repair or replacement isn’t mandated so USAA is about to stiff me over a $1.9K OEM replacement.

My issue is if I go with Safelite (whom you get automatically redirected to for claims now), only an aftermarket one will be installed by them, per USAA, but they “can’t guarantee calibration”.

My truck is still under manufacturer warranty so if Safelite does a poor calibration (they actually warn that it might happen on the claim they emailed me, which means they know their service sucks and I should expect problems…), the dealership will void all subsequent claims related to the windshield under its own warranty because a 3rd-party did the work, at which point I would then have to pay them a 2nd time around for the fix.

Either way, I have to front it all and THEN USAA will decide if they cover anything at all.

I’ve gone through this in another state that mandated free replacement and, even then, they were arguing for non-OEM over a $14 difference the shop offered to pay if they would just code things for OEM replacement . It then took 2hrs on the phone with them and finally threatening to yank everything out for them to concede, but I’m left out in the cold in this state without any protection or leverage.

Insurance continues to be the greatest scam on earth after bottled water, and USAA has evidently chosen to sacrifice its customers because greed is a bottomless pit.

Off to a new insurance, I guess …

2023 XD P4x Throttle issue and steering click

Hi,

My ‘23 XD P4x recently started having what feels like a throttle issue that no Nissan shop seems competent enough to diagnose, let alone fix.

The truck is still under warranty and has so far gone through a steering pump change that had failed after a gearbox change, and just last week a transmission change.

The throttle when driving or after a stop pulsates the whole cabin when gears change, and rpms fluctuate up and down a bit when that happens.

The steering wheel click has baffled 4 different dealership with most just ignoring that problem and having me pick up the truck.

I should add that the new transmission was bucking the truck when I came to a stop so the latest done was a decel G sensor calibration which seems to have somewhat addressed that issue, ie it’s not 100% smooth but far better and not a main concern to me rn. Then again, maybe there’s a correlation here so I thought it worth mentioning.

Both the steering wheel clicking and throttle issue started in March and did not come with the truck which I’ve now put 47K miles on.

The truck currently has 88K miles on the odometer.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
