Shot with an EF 50mm f/1.8 STM, 36mm extension tube, Godox iT32 flash, and a homemade diffuser made from a styrofoam tube and two disposable paper plates. Setup photos attached.

Honestly, it worked better than I expected. The diffuser helped soften the flash nicely and kept the highlights on the ladybug much smoother.
