The Shell of my Fortress build

I’m building this on a group server with no mods, and I’ve finally reached a point with the shell where I feel it’s ready to share some progress. There’s still a fair bit left to do, but if there’s interest, I’ll keep posting updates as the build develops.

The Grand Atreides Sky Arena

On Arrakis, survival is not given, it is proven.

Those who ascend this tower face their final trial at the summit, where honour is decided in the arena above the sands.”

Edit: A bit of background for one of the comments below.

The Grand Atreides Sky Arena was not built for war, but for tradition.

Once, it stood as a place of honour, where Atreides nobles took part in the prestigious art of the bullfight, a test of skill, precision, and discipline above the sands of Arrakis.

Its towering, symmetrical design was no accident. The repetition was intentional, a reflection of Atreides order and control, built to be imposing, unwavering, and unmistakable on the horizon.

But after the Harkonnen takeover, its purpose was twisted. The name remains, but the meaning has been lost, turned into a brutal arena for spectacle and cruelty.

From Helius Gate, the Atreides can only watch as their legacy is defiled.

Perhaps one day, a loyal soldier will reclaim the tower… and restore it to what it was always meant to be.

The idea for this came from a conversation in-game about wanting proper 1v1 duels. That got me thinking about what the perfect setting for it would look like if we ever get the chance, and this is what I came up with.

I knew I’d run into build limits pretty quickly at the top, so I had to be smart with the design. The tower itself is made using Large Gates to stretch the piece count as far as possible and keep that vertical scale.

I’d have loved to go heavier on lighting and decoration, but the limits definitely put a cap on that. Still, I think it holds its own, you can’t really miss it out in the desert.
