2025 Equinox EV Google Maps Keeps Going Offline + Unable to Receive Updates
Has anyone else had issues with Google Maps going offline on their 2025 Equinox EV?
My maps keep going offline every 1–2 days. I already took the car to the dealer twice and they said everything looks fine and told me to contact OnStar. I also did a full factory reset, but the issue still comes back.
Another issue is that I can’t check for updates anymore. It keeps saying “Vehicle is unable to connect,” even when connected to a hotspot/Wi-Fi. My last update was in February, and my OnStar/data plan expired in March.
From what I understand, the vehicle should still be able to receive software updates even without an active subscription. Is that correct?
I’ve tried:
- Factory reset
- Wi-Fi hotspot
- Different networks
- Dealer visits (twice)
Still the maps randomly go offline and updates won’t download.
Any recommendations or anyone with the same problem?
