Hi guys, I recently had a...disagreement with our contractor due to them being completely irresponsible and having attitude problem. I don't want to say too much cos IDW to doxx myself... But the contractor is not happy with me that I cause so many problems despite just joining my company. I don't know if I did anything wrong tbh... My boss is on my side though, like she agrees with me and gave them a good scolding as well, but now my relationship with them is not too good...

Edit: To add more context, it wasn't really an argument. Firstly, no voices were raised as it was a text message. Secondly, he started to make personal attacks against me which I declined to take part in and instead forwarded it to my boss, to which he continued to make more personal attacks. In the end, I just ignored him

I'm super confused about something. I made.a police report not too long ago regarding a traffic incident I witnessed and this TP officer got back to me using WhatsApp. I thought TP officers don't usually use WhatsApp to get back to you? I tried calling the scamshield hotline and got different replies. One agent told me it's a legit number (I provided the name and number of the officer), while another told me that TP officer will never call you from your WhatsApp. I did receive a gov.sg email and SMS though...

So I would just like to ask opinions on something. I just joined this company not long ago, not even 3 months in. There was a mistake from the contractor side and when I highlighted it to them, they just brushed it off and scolded me for poking my nose around when I was just a newbie. This was a serious issue and I informed my boss on this. Eventually, somehow it escalated to my boss's boss and they...actually agreed with me. They scolded the contractor and told me that what I reported was correct.

I...am a little conflicted. On one hand, I was abit...uncomfortable when my boss escalated this issue to higher ups cos I didn't want to be seen as overstepping, on the other hand I was surprised they actually took my side cos like I mentioned, I'm still new so I may not get everything right. What I intended to be a clarification escalated to a scolding to contractor

Hi guys, recently I was made known of the Bone Marrow Donor Programme and was thinking of signing up. Problem is, I have mental conditions and am currently on psychiatric medication so was wondering if this would disqualify me.

I have taken a look at the BMDP medical exclusion list and it does not list down any mental health conditions. I called the staff over the phone to clarify and they mentioned it would have to be assessed on a case by case basis.

Does anyone have any experience in this? Thanks

Hi guys. I just want to preface this by saying that I am in no way doomposting, but rather, would like to present the facts in an objective manner and hopefully get some opinions on this.

It is no secret that the future of the game is hanging on a knifes edge. Most people are waiting to see what half anniversary has in store for us and so was I, but recent events have made me rethink and I've come to the conclusion that Bside has already deemed SS a failure and is moving on. Here are my points.

1. The game is still very unoptimzed on mobile

The allure of mobile games is that I can play them on the move without needing a PC. Want to take a break at work? Play some mobile games. Want a better experience? Go home and play on PC. Problem is Star Savior runs like crap on mobile. Now, granted I own a relatively old phone but the game can barely hit 30 FPS let alone the 60FPS setting in game. For context, I've played HSR on this phone with absolutely no issues and smooth gameplay. Of course, I would prefer to play on PC but i can't carry my pc to work can I? I've been monitoring their recent patch notes and nowhere does it state that they are doing anything about the unoptimzed state of the mobile client. If that is so, then perhaps they are focusing only on the PC gang. As of this writing, these are the numbers pulled off Steam DB. The all time peak is 16,599. The current 24 hour peak is 1,972.

Look at how much the playerbase has dropped. This is terrible. They clearly know this and aren't doing anything about it. I doubt there are many players playing on phone due to how unoptimzed it is.

2. People are quitting, fast

For my friends list, I always delete any player that doesn't login for 1 day or more. But recently, I've found myself needing to delete at least 5 friends per day. Now, I know I'm making a far fetched conclusion that people who don't login for more than a day have quit, but honestly, this tells me that even if they don't quit, they don't see it as a game worth frequently logging into anymore.

3. Lack of QOL features

- The game requiring you to navigate to 2 separate menus (Cash Shop and Guild Shop), just to claim a measly 20 gems. For context, one Observation requires 200. Meaning to do a 1 pull you need to do this 10 days in a row. 100 days in a row for a 10 pull. This is ridiculous, why would you give such lousy rewards like that? I'm not complaining about free gems but come on.

The only reason I can think of is for the Cash Shop, it's to bring you TO the cash shop, where you spend your real money. For the guild one, I suspect it's just to log another variable in their system. Something like "Amount of active players in a guild".

- The inability to deactivate Nova Burst

Maybe I'm dumb but I do not know how to deactivate Nova Burst once I activated it. Yeah, I know what you mean, I should have decided to use it before I press the button. This is a bad habit I carried over from Epic Seven, but there the...I forgot what it's called already tbh, the "enhance skill" function typically gives the skill additional effects AND deal more damage. For SS, nova burst does give additional effects SOMETIMES and deals more damage SOMETIMES. The default enhancement is that it deals 1 more TOUGHNESS damage. There are times when I see an enemy already broken and instinctively press Nova Burst to try to do more damage only to realise it's wasted cos the enemy is broken already. How hard is it to program it such that if you press the button one more time, it gets deactivated? The game even has a QOL tab in the battle guide that audaciously puts in auto and fast forward as QOL features. Not wrong, but these are given in any battle game nowadays...

Edit : I was mistaken and did not realise that Nova Burst gives 15 percent damage boost to all skills. Still, my gripe is with not being able to deactivate it

- Terrible navigation flowchart

Let me explain this. You're in the Savior screen, and looking to equip your savior with some gear. You realise you have something missing and you go to your storage to open a box to get that gear. If you press back, you will end up in the main menu, where you have to go back to your savior and look at her gear again. This is just one example where the game doesn't recall which screen you are at and throws you back to the default menu.

4. Lack of QA/QC

What do I mean by this?

When I first downloaded SS on launch day on my phone, not only was it laggy but some of the dialogue was in Korean, despite setting my language to English. I decided to stop playing then and there but somehow came back to it a few weeks later. It got fixed, but then some of the CUTSCENE subtitles are also in Korean. They recently fixed this. Now I noticed that some of the inbox gifts are in Chinese. Where are all these languages coming from bruh. Did you collab with Duolingo without telling us? Did you even check them?

Also, the friend list bug. A few weeks ago the bug was still active. It's fixed now I think. You couldn't delete friends and it gave you an error code. You couldn't claim FP once you hit the max and it also threw you an error code. As a developer, you DO NOT want to let your users see these error codes. You want them to see an ERROR MESSAGE. This just shows your error handling is poor.

The discord is moderated like it's North Korea. I basically got muted for using too many capital letters 5 mins upon joining. And idk what they classify as vulgarities but I can't type a single sentence without being flagged. Had to use broken English in the end.

Speaking of the discord, the link to the latest maintenance notice is wrong. It leads to the 26 March maintenance announcement instead. Did anyone not check this link? Click on it to verify it after it has been posted?

5. Closing statements

It might seem like I hate the game but I really do not. I like the art, the music especially and an idle game suits my schedule. But not this. This is...a mess. To me, they have already decided to move on. I only bought the 2 regular monthly passes, which btw, gives you stamina upon login instead of your inbox, meaning you have to use it NOW instead of saving it for later (wtf). But I don't see myself buying anything else, what with the constant blaring of packs everytime I reach a milestone. I'm still gonna keep playing, but I don't have any hope left for this game. They killed Counterside and this is what they gave us. Good luck Bside, you're gonna need it in the days to come
