How to find Chinese manufacturers address on maps?

Hello people,

I am planning a business trip to China to meet my manufacturing partner. The problem is I am struggling a lot to locate their address in google maps. When they provide their address in English, google maps collapses and shows multiple results, and when they share their location in Chinese (via location WeChat) this does not match anything in google maps. I think it is because for some reason google maps does not work with Chinese addresses, am I right? This is my hypothesis since there is no street view anywhere. Am I missing something? What can I do to have a proper way to locate them in the map to ensure I am able to arrive to their offices hassle free when I arrive?

Btw, the address they shared matches the one in their website and couple of other marketplaces like Alibaba, and they even shared their location on WeChat, so not concerned about them not being legit at all

Thanks!!

Police is corrupt

First disclaimer before explaining anything, not saying every policemen is corrupt, but the institution itself clearly is

Situation goes as follows. I have been living in BKK for 5 months, DTV visa, and a friend came to visit. We were coming back from having dinner alone downtown and police stops our ride in Sukhumvit, lets say 500 meters before Onnut BTS. They register us and find that my friend is carrying this electronic cigarette, which apparently is illegal in Thailand. Surprisingly the policeman spoke decent English, quite rare in Thai people, and tells us to accompany them to speak to their boss, and repeats couple of times "don't worry"

We arrive to the police station (Phra Khanong Police Station) and they tell my friendto get in, and say that I cannot go inside with her, I need to wait outside. I do a quick research and find out that electronic cigarettes like IQOS are completely illegal in Thailand, our fault for not knowing that, its our responsibility as foreigners, and that it can be punished with fines, or jail if found guilty of importing. I say okay, fair, we will have to pay a fine

They do not come out for a while, and suddenly a Farang policeman, which honestly spoke English worse than the other Thai policeman, tells me that if I don’t want my friend to stay arrested for three days I need to pay 10K THB, cash, obviously. I say, okay, I'll go get the money to an ATM. In the meantime, I decide to call the Tourist Police, I explain them the situation, and the guy on the phone tells me to pass him to the policeman I am with (I was back with the money at this point), and the guy says he is not speaking in the phone with anyone. This was a clear confirmation that we were being scammed

Long story short, we paid the money and leave (obviously no receipt given)

I say the entire institution itself is corrupt because we are not talking about a random bribe on an island for riding without helmet, it was an entire police squad (+20 people) stopping only Farangs in the middle of Sukhumvit and systematically asking for cash money for leaving. If not all of them are corrupt, they happily collude with corruption

Our fault for breaking the law, yes, but I would have gladly paid three times more in a formal way that paying cash to a corrupt police

Just writing out of pure rage. Honestly until now I was in love with the country, Thai people are kind and honest in my experience, but I assume this is the kind of shit you put up with when you travel to a not so developed country

Hello there,

I’m close to launching a new Private Label product and just secured my US trademark. Although I don't plan on selling in the Chinese market, I am manufacturing there.

I’ve read about the risks of "trademark squatting," where third parties register your mark in China and then use Customs to block your exports. I found a few reputable-looking attorneys who can handle the filing for about $200.

For those with experience in PL: is this a necessary, or am I overthinking it? Has anyone actually run into issues at Customs for not having a local trademark?

Thanks!
