Raq continues to protect Kanan because she has no other purpose
We have to remember that the initial reason Raq became a drug dealer was because she was a single mother forced to take care of her son. In her eyes, Kanan was the reason for being who she is now, and it justifies all of her actions no matter how good or bad.
If you go back to the first season of Raising Kanan, Raq never wanted to be in the drug game initially. She was a teenage girl who was good at science, which is why she even became attracted to a dude like Symphony in the first place. Howard essentially turned her out & manipulated her, which sent her down a dark path. It's actually tragic in reality.
If she was to completely abandon Kanan, she would be left confused as to why she continues to sell drugs.
Snaps & Pop are the reason
I don't think Def Con is Breeze's dad either. I think Snaps & Pop actually killed Breeze's real father and told him that Def-Con was his father and both him & Kanan will find out this season that they both were manipulated & lied to.
What Kanan learned & inherited from others
Raq: Raq emphasized the importance of leading and pick the right people in your crew. OG Kanan stressed this to Dre.
Marvin: OG Kanan had Marvin's temper & sense of humor
Lou-Lou: OG Kanan dressed much like Lou-Lou & had a cool demeanor like him when necessary being able to conceal his intentions
Breeze: OG Kanan's chaotic nature & knack for violence was definitely inherited from Breeze.
Unique: Kanan learned from Unique how to play the long game and retaliate under a false identity.
Palomar: Kanan learned from her that a woman who knows she is attractive is dangerous.
Ronnie Mathis: OG Kanan used fear & intimidation to bend people towards his will just like Ronnie.
Jukebox: Jukebox told Kanan no matter what to always keep the part of himself that cares about others. This ended up being his undoing when it came to Ghost & Tariq.
Snaps & Pop: OG Kanan was an expert at robberies, stick-ups & manipulation just like these two.
Howard: OG Kanan didn't eat pork. Howard was a Muslim.
Why are Kanan & Breeze taking corners when Raq found out back in Season 1 that NYPD made the corners hot? Wouldn't it make sense for them to secure the projects?
reddit.comThe sad thing about Kanan & Raq's relationship is that Raq was the person he loved the most. She was the reason he jumped into the drug game. The reason he shot Howard. The reason he killed Ronnie.
Kanan failed that test in Season 1 because he didn't want to leave Raq to be on her own. Their relationship has always been symbiotic.
Snaps & Pops realized after Season 3 that they had to sever Kanan's connection from his family & everyone he loves the most not only to control him but make him soulless.
Stefano isn't making out of RK alive. The minute he stepped to Kanan and started making orders in addition to trying to use him to get to Raq sealed his death wish. Breeze doesn't respect Stefano either.

youtu.beIt's good they didn't have Oba vs Jevon in the KOTR Finals. Oba & Jevon are like Awesome Kong & Gail Kim in where its the unstoppable force vs the underdog babyface. If Oba wins a World Title and goes on a dominant run, Jevon should be the one to dethrone him.
Kanan & Breeze will slowly realize that between Snaps, Pops & Stefano they aren't making much. It's practically friendly extortion from people who aren't doing much legwork.
Unique's offer to Kanan to do their own thing actually would've been more lucrative in the long term especially with a New Jersey/New York pipeline.
Akbar's death might lead to the Trenton beef in Origins. And from what Kanan described in OG Power that must've been one of their deadliest wars that had Ghost on the ropes.
A King knows when the troops are storming the castle and when he is being cornered on the chessboard. Unique lasted long in the game because he was always willing to adapt and look at things from all angles. A true hustler in the sense of the word.
Unique's story has always been about adaptation.

When he lost to Raq in Season 1 he decided to work with the Italians in Jersey to get back in position.

When he realized crack was no longer in style he switched to heroin.

When the Italians betrayed him he found a new supplier with the Asians.

When Ronnie betrayed him he laid low and rebuilt his old network.

When he realized that Kanan, Breeze & Marvin were coming for him he knew he couldn't win and exited the game.

Unique is stubborn but he is smart. And he never broke the code.
Tasha apologized to Ghost, admitted she was wrong about him going legit and they separated. Fans conveniently overlook this.
Power Book 3 Raising Kanan Season 5 Episode 1 | Review & Analysis
youtu.beLou dying was Raq's karma in a sense. I honestly think that's why Raq didn't take it as hard as Marvin. She knew she didn't treat Lou the best when he was alive.
reddit.comAnother reason why Kanan doesn't trust Raq is how she handled the Palomar situation. Even though Raq was right from Kanan's perspective Raq is someone who will eliminate anyone she sees fit.
"It makes sense why Ghost got rid of Kanan & Breeze" Ghost got rid of them because he wanted power. Nothing more nothing less.
I don't get why Power fans say this as if Ghost didn't love Kanan & Breeze like brothers. These are his own words.

Ghost is and was a grimy street 🥷🏾 at his core that associated with and befriended other dudes that were like him.

Like we always say. Wait until Origins drop before we make assumptions because the dude we see ain't going to be the smooth gentleman gangster we saw in OG Power.

Like Jukebox said "People really believe that shit?".
