My Unsettling Lift Experience

I remember returning to my accommodation (which was a condominium at the time) and taking the lift to the 8th floor, which is where my unit was. The building has multiple towers, but I was certain I had entered the correct one. As usual, I stepped out of the lift and started walking towards my unit. Almost immediately, something felt wrong. When I reached the spot where my unit should have been, I was staring at what appeared to be someone else’s unit instead.

My first thought was that I must have accidentally gone to the wrong floor. I checked the floor number displayed beside the lift, but it clearly said I was on the 8th floor. That made no sense. Since the floor was correct, I convinced myself that I must have entered the wrong tower without realising it.

At that point I genuinely didn’t think much of it so I took the lift back down to the ground floor. As I stepped outside and looked around properly, I was surprised to see that I was actually in my own tower all along. At that point, I remember feeling genuinely unsettled because neither explanation I had come up with made sense anymore.

I decided to go back up to the 8th floor one more time. This time, everything looked exactly as it should. I walked towards my unit, and it was there in its usual place, as if nothing had happened.

Does the Personal Details page become available only after your visa commences?

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to check if this is a common occurrence where you can only view your personal details after your visa commences? Thanks in advance.

Hope

Hey there. I’m kind of going through a difficult phase in my life and would really love any kind of book (fiction/non-fiction are both welcome) where the main theme is about a character who never loses hope despite going through long periods of pain/struggle.

I know I could search the subreddit for this genre but I’d really just love to connect with the community :)

Edit: Thank you all so so much for your recommendations. I genuinely feel so happy to have heard from so many of you :)
