Dreams have various purposes, which need to be identified and interpreted correctly. This takes practice. It reduces confusion and emotional turmoil.

Dreams exist in a number of categories:

1**. Sorting and Storage.**

We sort the events of our days in a number of areas in our brains. It is our filing system. Events such as important occurrences and important dates, can be stored in permanent memory during sleep. If we allw our brains to process and categorize information, we store it in permanent memory. Events, phone numbers, addresses, appointments, the identities of people and places, learning that needs to be retained over time.

Information that isn't as crucial is stored in our temporary memory. Some examples could include how much wespent on chewing gum, or the face of a nondescript person or animal. If we don't need it to be retained, we discard it.

An important component of study/learning is keeping that information requires that after 30 minutes of study we allow our brains to sort and categorize or that content goes straight into temporary memory. We further file in our sleep.

Little of this content is psychic. While we are busy filing in our sleep we have dreams. We will dream about known personages or process our emotions regarding people and such, in storage dreams. They are a sort of entertainment and also, reflection. these dreams can be mundane or fantastical. Rarely, a spirit may insert itself into one of these.

2. Premonitions

We can have part of a dream, or the entire dream consist of viewing events that haven't already occurred in this timeframe.

This is precognition. My personal opinion is that precognition is an awareness of things that have already happened in an alternate timeline, or events we must recognize as spiritual beings for some reason. That is subject to interpretation. Premonition provide us with choices to make depending on what is seen.

Spirits that are real or whom we assign as archetypes to help us to view and navigate these dreams, may act as tour guides or companions in these dreams.

Again our tricky little brains may insert elements that can't be trusted as such. I had one premonitory dream where Superman appeared at the end. Superman was my brain, telling me the premonition was over. The rest was a straight premonition, and the Deja vu signaled the beginning of the anticipated event. Deja vu happened in the middle of a different set of life events in the waking world, related to that dream..

3. Spirit Visitations and Messages

Spirits and souls may use our dreams to communicate. They may stand in one place. They may interact as they did in life. The will convey love, comfort or advice. They rarely admonish us in real visitations.

It is important to note that when we attach unusual behaviors or unpleasant behaviors to an archetype rather than a spirit visitation that the perceived spirit will behave in an uncharacteristic manner.

They can be angry. They may tell you to wake up. they may assign guilt or helplessness or grief. These aren't visitations. They are or minds interpreting our emotions.

Recently, two reddit users wrote about what they thought were spirit visitations. the souls in question were rude or argumentative. They were confrontational. The behavior in one example was typical of the living person. In the other example it was uncharacteristic of the deceased.

Those weren't spirits. That was the user's mind processing emotions that might be ongoing due to life events. The archetype of the soul being angry is the equivalent of a child asking if a parent is mad at them.

It is emotional catharsis and can be confused as a visitation in a dream state.

4. Astral Travel and Shamanic Journeys

During astral travel in a dream state, psychic communication is common. As is also common in an altered state of consciousness in shamanic travel, there can be symbols, observance of coming attractions or various spirits. we can be in a number of types of conscious awareness.

We have to be very aware during astral travel and journeying that all is not what it appears. That takes practice.

I went on a lovely journey in the recent past, where I went on vacation with the members of the group of spirits in my home. They aren't guides. They are around me often and we went on vacation in an in-between, astral location of our own dream-like creation. I know that place only existed in a dream walk.

We talked. We communicated. We spent time together. It was so much more intense than I expected. I was left with so much joy. Each of the spirits was actually present in both locations to a degree. As the living person, I was more tied to this body.

My deceased loved ones made appearances at one point. There were familiar elements to the vacation and I had to examine the parts of the journey later, to sort symbols from actual spirit communication. It took days.

The entire time I still was aware of my body. I was aware of the place my body was here. I had to interpret the experience and the information, later. I knew I was simultaneously in this dimension.

ENERGY HAS FORM AND DENSITY.

When developing advanced skills with spirits and energy, pay attention to places where the molecules around you are more dense or different colors.

Practice this at night in the beginning.

It can become easier over time and easier to distinguish changes in spaces with practice. Daytime skills can become easier with that practice.

SOME THINGS YO OBSERVE

Examinebplaces where the room has dark areas and light areas that don't match the lighting in and around a room. You don't need to move around to do this.

Try pushing, isolating, containing or moving these masses of molecules. Once you master doing this in one room, practice observing in other rooms/spaces without moving your physical body.

You can push those you don't care for, out. You can learn to more easily recognize angelic beings or family spirits. You can compel them to leave or to speak.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

PORTALS

Portals take a variety of forms. I had a trio of living males create a portal in my home. It appeared as if their was a tube of more dense material in one spot. Then, the persons astralled into the space.*

Observing the changes in the room allowed me to use energy to send those guys out , to ask for spirit assistance, and to dissolve the portal. I then renewed my protective wards and sigils.

I like to trace those portals and their origins back to the living or nonliving senders. Call it preventive measures and response.

You can remote view or travel over Tracing this sort of activity means you can observe and identify senders/travellers without being detected

I watched a portal begin to open on a wall in my home. I sealed it and traced the energy back to its sender. It is useful to repel psychic attacks or invasions of privacy.

Positive spirits don't need to create portals. They use existing ones or don't need portals at all.

ENERGY RECOGNITION

Practice discerning what you are viewing. The easiest way is to sense the nature of the energy. For this, do not rely on your eyes. Use your gut feelings.

If anything feels off, insist rhat energy reveal itself.

I know where the spirits are in my.home using this method, rather rather to rely solely on eyesight.

PRACTICE and PROTECT YOURSELF

It all began with a request for help, years ago.

I was invited to a wedding for an acquaintance. I knew.the bride via her roommate, (my SIL).

The bride tried to do everything herself. She made their rings. She catered the event. She hired all the vendors.

While making her own wedding dress, she sewed the bodice dart on the white satin bodice, upside down and had to purchase additional satin the week of the wedding.

Cue a request for my mother and I to finish and deliver her seven cake extravaganza that she could not finish herself because she needed to repair her dress and finish it on time. The bride baked the cakes and had no time to decorate. She hadn't iced, filled or in any manner gone past the baking stage.

My.mother and I agreed without question. It would be an extra courtesy besides the expensive Irish crystal covered candy dish I purchased as a wedding present, that set me back a week's pay. We were happy to help.

The cake took a week to complete.

We needed an extra staircase to replace a broken plastic staircase that connected one of the satellites cakes to the main cake.

We were given permission to "lend" the bride our own hardware.

Two days later, I had to call to offer the bride our water fountain. The bride's fountain didnt work. My mother asked me to call the bride. We wanted to help.

The mother of the bride yelled at me on the phone. "We are paying you peopl to take care of this shit. Don't call again. Tell your mother to take care of it". She slammed down the phone.

Oh. Yes, she did.

We finished the cake. We delivered the cake to the venue. I did not attend the wedding. I helped.my.mother to set up the cake. I returned to the venue to retrieve our hardware after the reception.

Two weeks later, the bride called and asked where her gift was? I told her.my mother and I spent an entire week constructing her wedding cake with a black and white photo, and, that her mother yelled at us on the phone. I told her we wouldn't have called unless we needed to approve the substitution of her broken hardware.

I said, "That was your gift". The other item is a reminder to me that no one deserves to be rewarded for insulting my mother, who offered to spend a week helping a bride in trouble.

I never spoke to her again.

I kept my beautiful crystal candy dish. I look at it, every single day.

Our clients come form a plethora of backgrounds and perceptions of spirits contain elements for the client of their perceptions based on culture or religion.

It is helpful to be aware of the preconceptions and beliefs of a client.

I have a coworker who does become concerned when he becomes aware that there is a spirit in his home. He worries they could be hostile. This is based on the concepts of the nature of spirit in the culture in whoch he was raised. It has resulted in some degree of anxiety.

As a medium, it is useful to know that we should interpret the intentions of a harmless spirit for our sitters. It helps to alleviate anxiety or fear.

What I do, is explain that spirits are everywhere. They are aware of us. They have their own activities and functions.

When a soul is present ,it isn't necessary to panic.

What I do, if I can, is be aware of the culture and background of my sitter and try to alleviate any fear, while advising that the client is in control of the surrounding spirit, NOT the reverse

From time to time I post to update and remind the community of our purpose and etc.

Rr/Mediums is for medium development and learning and helping users with related questions. r/MediumReadings is for reading requests, sharing, practice readings, (on posts) approved reader advertisements and related subject matter.

Some of the rules on our other subreddit are meant to protect users from scammers and bait and switch tactics.

When I first came to r/Mediums, everything was in one place. The mediums who wanted to be able to have a safe place to interact and to learn, became unable to network in between reading requests and reading offers, and some other types of posts, that inundated the subreddit.

So the subreddit was split into r/Mediums for medium interaction and development, and r/MediumReadings, where Mediums eventually became qualified and approved (to protect users from scammers), and where practice users or professionals could read on posts.

Only.berofied readers can advertise there. They are tested, and ethical or they are removed.

The separation was necessary and it does require heavy moderation on both subs.

DMs and chats were removed to protect users from scammers. Certain types of posts, "haunted object, dream interpretations and fictional or non fiction series and serial stories" were removed.

However, some difficulties continued. Some of our past mods spent so much time removing reading offers and reading requests in this subreddit, that we lost reputable moderators.

Now all posts and comments are held for review. As moderators are volunteers and not online 24/7, we do appreciate your patience. Eventually, we all need to eat, sleep or interact with our own families.

This review process isn't just as intensive as moderation was before, it is more intense.

I hope this post offers some past history, some clarity and makes it clear we are heavily involved in providing a safe space for users in both subs.

In my eleven years on reddit, I have encountered some odd situations. I am advising others to be careful.

Most of my activity on reddit has been amazing and there is so much we can do to help people with our skills.

This experience includes:

1. Users requesting information about "missing persons" who in fact are people they can't contact legally. So they try to use mediums to get location information about the victim. (Some newbies have fallen for this ruse because they don't preread the user themselves). Stalking.

2. A user impersonating one publicly.known person. When in fact, the actual user is not who they profess to be. This one ia currently actively approaching mediums. THEY are impersonating a vulnerable person.

3. Users who ask for causes of death of a friend's cousin's neighbor's childhood friend. When in fact they no longer communicate with the family. The user is involved in the crime. (Mre rare. Still happens).The user doesn't want to allow law enforcement to do their investigation, (possibly a ceime), or sheer nominees (so rude and invasive).

4. Readers who decide the best way to discredit another reader is to request a reading with a 1 karma account and then do one of the following... leave a bad review, try to use subs as such this to damage the reader's reputation, message mods without proof of misconduct, and do similar on fake watchdog subreddits. Minions doing the same.

5. Reading exchange scams. The user gets a reading and then evaporates.

6. Readers who exaggerate their experience and skill set to gain clients and to pad their reputations. Expertise takes time. Misrepresentation is a form of scamming.

7. Users who message you offering to help you increase your skills, whose aims are nefarious and who do attempt blackmail, etc.

I'm sure there are other examples. These are some from this month and the past eleven years.

Be aware before you start reading for others. Be aware when you are reading. Pre read those prospective clients.

I've made many mistakes. These are some that.may help other readers.

Pratice Readings

We recognize that some users offering comments and advice may be practice readers and nonverified readers. readers can practice in the comments and can receive feedback in comments. Practice readers can reply on posts. Usually, practice readers will tell an OP that they are learning.
