Traffic Stop = ICE in Washington State?

Pls. Advise. I have Pending VAWA/AOS in Washington with a valid WA driver’s license. Vehicle is insured, registered, and I’m listed on the insurance.

My abuser and I got a secondhand car knowing I would mainly use it so I could work, survive, and become more independent. But now it feels like my abuser longer want me using it and are warning me that if I get pulled over for a normal traffic stop, police could automatically contact ICE because of my pending immigration status.

From what I understand, a normal traffic stop is usually just a traffic matter unless there’s some serious criminal issue involved.

Am I misunderstanding the actual risk here in Washington State?

Honestly, I’m starting to feel like fear is being used to discourage my independence and mobility. I’m just trying to separate real legal risk from fear or misinformation.

Not looking for legal representation, just insight or experiences from people familiar with WA and immigration situations. Thank you in advance.

What??? Thats why all cases even EAD took so long.

And alot of delays in immigration processing.

The lawyer in that post is talking about:

A “new vetting process”

Based on reports from American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)
