Illumicrate Big Summer Blowout

Illumicrate Big Summer Blowout

Illumicrate is having a summer sale!

Probably trying to get rid of old stock.

I got The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo and The Fragile Threads of Power by V. E. Schwab from the UK shop (this last one for £11.5 seems like a steal).

I used my points so it was even cheaper. There are a few boxes full of items that look pretty interesting too.

Is anyone else buying something from the sale?

Owlcrate - doing Sequels and how likely they'll be

I just saw what the guesses are for the next month, and realized the July book is one I have already preorder from Waterstones, and it's supposed to be a duology.

Which is why I'm wondering if Owlcrate tends to do sequels for books that were in their subscription box, so I wouldn't be stuck with the first book in one format and the sequel in another.

I'm guessing there is no way the sequel would be in the subscription box in the future, since I'm pretty sure no subscription does this.

My issue is that I'm from Spain, so buying books from Owlcrate outside of the subscription box means that I would have to pay an insane amount on shipping. Sometimes more than the book itself. Even if they did the sequel, I would need to spend a ridiculous amount on it.

So, my question is, how likely is it for Owlcrate to do sequels? Is it something they often do, or depends too much on how popular the book is?

(Maybe I'll not even like the book, I know that's a possibility too; hopefully that won't be the case, but I'm thinking that if I don't like it, the owlcrate version would be easier to sell).

I would take any sort of advice on this!
