It appears that with enough knowhow you can get impact video data from the Omni when utilizing both of the hidden USB ports on the bottom of the device. It will be curious to see what updates we get on this in the future and whether or not this invalidates your warrantee.
The Omni I purchased has held up well so far with a lot of testing. I feel confident that you do not need an external case for it. However one thing I wish I had for it was a tempered glass screen protector for the display. Nothing has happened to mine, but it seems like the one point of failure and it would be nice to have some sort of protection there.
Has anyone had luck finding a pre-existing screen protector product that just so happens to fit the Omni's screen?
I have access to a Quad MAX so I tested it today against my Omni that arrived yesterday. The short of it was that every measured metric that both LMs had to one another was incredibly tight with backspin and carry distance in particular being extremely close. The one thing that stuck out to me is what has already been pointed out by content creators; the spin axis does seem to be, for a RH golfer, slightly draw biased. I was getting about 1.5 more to the left readings on the Omni versus the Quad MAX. Both were calibrated to be at a square position relative to the ball position.
Overall, I think the Omni is by far the best valued LM on the market if you need detailed measured metrics and the fact that it has vertical and horizontal impact location is HUGE. Obviously if you are only looking for general distances on the range there are a slew of under 800USD LMs of the radar variety that work well. However for a purpose built indoor sim, if you need a floor camera tracked system, I really think you cannot go wrong with this unit. I cannot fathom spending more money for a more expensive LM unless you are getting stickerless club data from it. The Omni requires a single sticker top of face along the centerline of the grooves for Club Speed and Impact Location while needing the bottom of shaft sticker for Path, Attack, and Face Angle along with Dynamic Loft (the last two being partially an estimation). I think needing these two stickers is more than fine especially given that plenty of other camera LMs utilize the same top of face center of scorelines sticker setup for one dot mode. The Omni came with a few sheets of shaft stickers and a number of face stickers. I'm sure 3rd party stickers will show up at some point.
I am keeping my Omni and plan on using it from here on out. Hoping that 3rd party carrying cases and tempered glass display protection comes out at some point.
