My swag has arrived

Design is such an improvement over the FH5 one, which has served me well since 2021, even though it got mild stick drift like a month in. Just had to live with it.

Which is the reason I got two this time! One will be kept in-box and one will be HEAVILY used, I'll most likely end up swapping the sticks to hall effect modules.

Never owned an official Headset either, but I'm excited to see how this one feels and how the mic is

18mo old 1 V's headphone jack peaking, imbalanced audio, stops music randomly (UK based)

Hi peeps,

As title, my 1 V (~18mo old, bought in Oct 2024) has been running into issues where my wired headphones (multiple combinations of headphones & cables tested) will, in rough sequence;

1: Pop significantly upon plugging in, about five or six times in quick succession

2: When playing music, the left channel is quite muffled and crummy while any significant bass will absolutely bash the left driver to full whack. So much so that I can physically feel the force if above 50% Vol like a subwoofer.

Right channel is significantly lower volume and has experienced no issues, but the imbalance between the two is insane. Converting to mono audio and messing around with Atmos has not fixed it, I've tried

3; Randomly result in the audio stopping abruptly; such as if I'm on YouTube Music, it *won't* keep playing, while sending audio data for example. It will actually pause the music entirely as if the jack was unplugged. Then restart. Then pause.

I noticed this happening on my Kitsounds a few days ago, which are my primary daily use headphones. My secondary at-home set are a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770s and the exact same results arise. The results aren't replicated if I plug either set of headphones into literally any other device, and work as expected.

I use the headphones with enough care while out that this *shouldn't* happen, not ramming them into the port, or shoving the phone into enclosed spaces like a tight pocket where the jack itself could cause internal damage.

Put simply, a headphone jack on a phone like this only managing to last 18mo with ~2hr daily use is beyond abysmal.

I'm based in the UK and my phone, according to the Sony warranty checker, has until October the 7th. Are Sony going to give me the runaround? Because if so I'll ditch the phone right now on principle and go with another brand. I paid £900 for this and shouldn't be expected to fork out hundreds for a replacement when the warranty is still active.

Cheers

Good evening, complete camera noob here so go easy on me 😆

There's a good deal on the Canon UK site right now for a full R50 bundle, £709 including the camera itself, RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens + Backpack + SD Card + Spare Battery

750-800 is my comfortable budget for the majority of the gear, at the minute. I can do without the backpack and SDs since I've already got tons, and I'm looking at getting a full cage rig later down the line

I was looking at the EOS 600D a few days ago, but I've held off because it's from 2011 and is generally considered to be outdated now.

So to put it simply, I've been doing phone photography and videography for years now relating to cars, trains, and more recently planes too. Currently using a Sony Xperia 1 V for all three, which has been a big help in learning settings like ISO and shutter speed with all the pro video settings, though I'd say I'm still learning the ropes. That's great for daylight stuff, but..

I'm also looking to branch out into some nightclub / gig videography (specifically video, that's the priority over just taking photos) for a couple of mates who do their own events and I want to do it right. Some of the venues we do are super low light, and my phone isn't cutting it. Has anyone got experience with this sort of thing? If the R50 is a fit for the nightclub stuff, I'll pull the trigger on one.

Cheers!
