Looking for elementary & middle school recommendations in Puyallup/University Place

Hi everyone! We’re looking to buy a home in the Puyallup/University Place area and are currently researching neighborhoods and schools.
We really like University Place because of the strong school district, but there are very few homes available within our budget, so we’re also looking closely at Puyallup.
For parents in the area, which elementary and middle schools would you recommend? We’re especially interested in strong academics and a friendly, supportive environment.
Which schools or areas would you recommend avoiding?

Thanks!

University Place — worth it?

We’re planning to buy a house and are currently considering University Place or Camas, mainly because of the schools. Our child will be starting school next year, and both school districts seem solid.
We both work remotely, so commuting isn’t really a factor. Homes in University Place are a little more expensive for our budget than in Camas, but we’re wondering if being closer to Tacoma might offer more in terms of activities, kids’ programs, sports, etc.
We also really like Seattle and would probably want to spend some weekends there, and we have friends in the Seattle area. On the other hand, we really like Camas/East Vancouver, where we currently live.
So, for those who know both areas: do you think moving to University Place is actually worth it? Or are we maybe romanticizing the benefits and would be better off staying in an area where the schools are just as good without paying more for the house?
Also, what are the downsides of living in University Place that I might not be aware of? Is there anything that tends to surprise people after moving there?
Would love to hear from families who have lived in or seriously considered both areas. What would make you choose one over the other?
