[BotW] Do you like how healing works in Breath of the Wild?

I've been going through Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom and looking at things that I want them to bring over to the new games, as well as what I think they should leave behind (for Ocarina of Time Remake and other future new games).

One thing that I'm not a huge fan of is how you have to pause the game to heal. I think it has two negative effects on the game:

  1. It makes the game way to easy; unless an enemy can one-shot you, you're hardly ever in danger of actually dying, since you can pause the game and get back to full health whenever you want.
  2. It ruins the pacing of the gameplay. You can be in the middle of a super intense battle, pause the game, slam 18 apples, and then resume the game like nothing happened.

I'd like to see future Zelda games force the player to be a bit more strategic about healing, and not allow them to pause the game whenever they're in trouble.

I made a video with some additional thoughts if anyone is curious and wants to hear a bit more on the topic: https://youtu.be/ni5nGk7Pqdc

What do you guys think? Do you want to see changes to how healing currently works? Or do you like how it currently functions?

Breath of the Wild's stamina meter needs to be different in future installments.

I was recently playing Breath of the Wild again (the Switch 2 version), and I wanted to play without all of the on-screen UI elements. So I went to the settings, turned off the HUD display, and was super annoyed that the stamina meter stayed on screen!

For a game where a large part of it is taking in these beautiful environments, I think it's silly that this unsightly stamina meter is so large and present right in the middle of the screen, and IMO it's quite distracting!

I understand that the stamina meter is core to the gameplay, but because of that, it's on the screen ALL the time (climbing, gliding, running).

Here is a video I made on the topic if anyone is interested in hearing more of my thoughts:

Do you all have any thoughts on this? Does it drive you crazy like it drives me crazy? I feel like from a game design perspective this is a bit of an oversight. How would you change this going forward?

Why do you think the Ocarina of Time Remake teaser showed us so little?

Now that we've had the teaser for almost two months (WOW time flies), why do we think Nintendo showed us so little?

I personally think that if the game is a simple one-to-one remake, they would've taken the opportunity to make that clear as soon as possible.

Because they didn't and they've let us sit with it for a while, I think the game is going to be a LOT more expanded than people are expecting.

Here are some more thoughts of mine if anyone is interested:

Either way, are you guys expecting massive changes when we're finally showed more of the game (HOPEFULLY some time in the near future)? Or are you keeping your expectations in check?

I know I should try to manage my expectations, but I'm just so excited!!!
