Montmorency Falls [ Hasselblad 500CM | 150mm Sommar | Rollei IR | Self dev in XTOL (1:1)]

I was recently in Quebec city and went to visit the Montmorency Falls. I would have to say that it was spectacular, and standing on the lower platform is an experience everyone should have

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have on this image.

Glass reflections in IR

Here I wanted to maximize the impact of Harris shutter effects by using glass buildings to reflect moving clouds. This is taken on the street corner at University in College in Toronto.

I’m happy with how there are multiple levels of reflections from the same clouds visible and it’s interesting to me that the pattern changes. I also like that the colours are more mixed together on the reflected surfaces than on the clouds themselves.

Happy to hear any thoughts!

Architecture in Infrared

This curved glass building in Toronto was a good subject for a trichrome. For those familiar this is the Hydro Building.

I would be happy to hear your thoughts! Cheers!

Why Film: A short documentary exploring the tactile world and creative satisfaction of analog photography [06:05]

Hey everyone! I wanted to share this short documentary I recently collaborated on with director SangKyeong Park.

This doc looks at the question of why analog photographers still choose film over digital in a modern world.

I'd love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions you have about the gear or the shooting process!

Exciting news: my friendly non-venomous Hackled Orb Weaver has babies!

My friendly uloborus glomosus has procreated! This isn’t the best picture, but I didn’t have time to take out my macro lens since I’m on the run.

Cool new spider on my porch

I was delighted to see this guy on my porch in Toronto. The distinctive pose of the spider in the web made me think about the post I saw two days ago here: https://www.reddit.com/r/spiderbro/s/BzO24DZsUo.

This guy was teeny tiny, probably about 8 mm in total length or slightly less, so I took out my macro lens and took the best pictures I could. I think the abdomen isn't spikey enough to be an Uloborus spider, but that's what this guy reminded me of. (to the automod, I'm NOT asking for an ID!)

I've never seen a spider like this and so it is an exciting find regardless.

Fairyland

I took this image last summer at sunset; I was quite happy with how it turned out. Since the sun was setting, I found the red filter image was somewhat similar to the infrared image since I wasn’t using an IR cut filter. I would try to use one if I re-created this another time. Happy to hear what you think.

Hi everyone, I just ordered a 32 mm extension tube, and when I attach it to my camera, I actually can’t take a picture by depressing the shutter button. what happens is a weird set of things. First there is a click and then if I twist the extension tube to the left, just a little bit, it feels like it properly engages and then the mirror pops up. Once the mirror pops up, I can then press the shutter AGAIN, and then the picture is taken. This happens on my 80 mm lens as well as my 120 mm macro lens.

I have to assume that this is not the normal functioning of an extension tube, since I haven’t seen anybody mention it. Are there any ideas as to what the problem is, or should I just return it to the seller in Japan? My plan is to return it, this is sort of the last ditch effort to see if there’s something I don’t understand.

Thank you!
