Tipping in the UK?

Do you tip your drivers? If I’m ever flush, have some cash lying around, or if I make a request to the driver and they do it (like the guy that gave me 45 bbq’s from maccies when I asked for 2) I’ll happily tip.
But it’s just never been in my head as a given due to uk culture around tipping. But now I’m getting older I start to feel guilty and want to tip, but never seem to get good experiences with Uber in order to warrant me wanting to start (maybe because I don’t tip!)

Am I in the wrong for not tipping?
Drivers is it something you see regularly in the UK or a nice bonus?

Paying a deposit in instalments?

My family and I faced homelessness a few years ago and ended up having to take a house that was out of our price range. We’ve been mostly fine but a member of the household lost their job recently and we have been struggling to make ends meet and scraping together to pay the rent each month.
I took a loan out to help cover this but it didn’t last long as we had also recently had our first child.

Ideally, we need to downsize but with our current rent being nearly impossible to make each month I don’t know how we will manage to save for a deposit and another properties rent upfront.
Is there any way around this? Could we come to an arrangement to pay no deposit up front and instead pay in instalments toward it once in the property?

We have spoken with the council but as we are adequately housed we do not qualify for the register.

Are Shoeuzis still in demand?

I know J-Ldn kind of disappeared and there was some NFT/Crypto stuff that I wasn’t really interested in. But are shoeuzis still popular? And how much of a price drop do you think I’d have to give to get them moved quickly?

What has happened to potatoes?

Has anyone found in the past few years potatoes are getting worse? I used to be able to buy a decent sized bag, stick it in a cupboard or in the fridge and even if I forgot about it for longer than I should, they would still be mostly useable, trim off a few sprouts and good to go.
Past couple of years it seems potatoes just aren’t lasting as long, nearly every bag I pick up at the supermarket has already began sprouting, and often has rotten mushy black spots already in with them.
Some scientific or biological explanation? Or just the usual higher costs for lower standards?

Update: it took me 24 hours but I managed to get a full refund (which I wasn’t going for) they originally upped the refund by £3 but I kept telling them I didn’t want any refund and instead wanted to discuss what had happened and have it acknowledged.

I spoke to them via social media (Instagram) and they assigned a ‘specialist’ to the in app support who then gave me the extra £3 I kept on at them that I didn’t want a refund and wanted to discuss but they continued to close the case everytime I updated. I then went back to Instagram who issued the full refund. Still didn’t get what I wanted but you can’t turn your nose up at a full refund.

TLDR: Angry bloke cries about how he cant talk to someone at support once they close the case.

I have had my fair share of issues with Uber eats over the years, but its a delivery app and there is always going to be issues and they issue refunds with no problem.

This time is something else, paid for priority delivery, order is sat for about 20 mins before a driver gets assigned. Cool its whatever, I'll get the priority refunded.

Driver then sits in burger king car park for about 10 mins (a different restaurant to my order) and I assume is picking up other orders. Support assure me he is picking up other orders and mine will be first in line for delivery.

Driver then takes a detour from the route to my address, and then another detour down a cul-de-sac and parks for about 6 mins, making other deliveries. Support assure me my food is on the way and that if I have issues upon arrival to get back in touch.

Food arrives stone cold, and the large pot of sauce I ordered has spilled inside the bag and sat so long it has eaten through the paper, spilling out onto the rug as I bring it into the house.

Contact support, tell them to bare with while I write my issue as it is a long one, while typing they say because I've not said anything they assume the issue is closed and end the chat. Next person says they will transfer me to special team. Special team say someone will be with me in 6-8 hours and to please leave info of the complaint. While I'm typing the complaint they issue a £6 refund and close the case. Every subsequent case I open they just say they can see the issue is resolved and close it.

How am I meant to get in touch with absolutely anyone at Uber? I honestly would have been fine with a part refund had they actually taken the time to read the complaint and now I'm dead set on getting a full refund just on the principle of it.

Been using Uber Eats exclusively for about 6 years, even paying for Uber One for 2 of those, but the service is just sh*te the past year or two. Whats the best delivery app at the minute?
