On some evenings I paint to relax. Last night I made this in Procreate while watching TV on the recliner.

A friend of mine takes awesome nature photos and was kind enough to let me paint over one... I made an alien bird making his way through a spaceport, trying to catch a flight.

I created a nebula by painting several layers of clouds and bringing them into 3d for a fly-thru. I did this because I'm the sort of person who enjoys relaxation videos... like those 8-hour long ones of driving down the highway of night. Basically I made my own space-themed version of one of those videos!

What I've attached here is a 1 minute version of the complete fly through, it's meant as a preview so I can post it directly. I have a 10-minute long version moves a lot more leisurely and relaxing pace. If you'd prefer to see that one here's a youtube link to it:

Last night I painted a nebula in Procreate. Some of the patterns in came from photos I did of a paint-pour project I did with my family. (I mention that because my daughter loves me crediting her for contributing to it. ❤️)

I sometimes look at space telescope photos and feel kinda ... well.. disappointed that we're in such a boring area of the galaxy. Wouldn't it be cool if we were close to a massive nebula? For fun I painted a new night sky over the city in Procreate, I was curious what that might look like.

My daughter likes to sit at my desk and pretend she's flying a spaceship, so I made this for her to have on the screen as she does.

Last night while relaxing on the couch I made a painting in Procreate exploring what our sky might look like if our solar system was closer to the galactic core.

I ran across a funny photo of a loaf and spent an evening painting over it to create an alien.
