My latest creation: Kairos44 with Cirque Trackpad (40mm)

Designed from scratch, like my other keyboards:

- 44 keys (instead of 42 like my previous keyboard)

- choc v1 black

- MBK Legend Glow R2 keycaps

- nice!view on the left

- Cirque Trackpad 40mm on the right

- RGB LEDs

- 3200 mah battery for each side.

- running ZMK

I have the trackpad moving my mouse cursor perfectly. I assigned my navigation buttons on the left side for mouse buttons, cursor speed, and right-sided button for precision moves. By default, tapping the touchpad sends a single left mouse click. Double tapping is just sending two left mouse clicks. I am very satisfied with what I created.

I am making tweaks and will publish the git repo with the KiCAD project and source code, and STLs for the switch plate, bottom plate, and BOM.

I will replace the feet on the right side later.

FW16 owners: Is anyone having extended boot up times when the MicroSD module is in slot #6

I have had my FW16 for about 3 months. And ever since day one I have been having a delayed boot up time of 47 seconds instead of the normal 21 seconds. After going back and forth with the support team we found out that it ONLY happens when the MicroSD module is in slot #6. If it is inserted into any other slot then the boot up time is 21 seconds.

Notice that at 21 seconds the backlight comes on. This is when I am normally present with the boot menu for my Linux OS. But at 47 seconds I finally get the OS boot menu and then everything continues as normal.

We swapped out the MicroSD module, no resolution. Updated BIOS, no resolution. Change OS to something that the Framework supports, no resolution. Removed all other modules but left the MicroSD module only, no resolution. They even sent me a replacement motherboard, no resolution.

Can anyone else recreate this issue?

I think I am fine using the MicroSD module in a different slot, but I am afraid that something else will go wrong and then I will be stuck with another uncovered problem.

I am going to do the same tests with the new motherboard and report back.

Last night I helped a friend go through the configuration process and purchase a FW16. I mentioned the FW16 last week because I have one myself, and mentioning all of the benefits. I am one of people that goes into Salesperson mode when I am excited about technology, and feel that sometimes the tech company should pay me for how passionate about a product and show it off to regular non-techie nor early adopters. Can we get a referral system in place to earn points or something when someone purchases a FW product from our effort?
