Saw this while playing ranked, and couldn't help but to share it
I recently played a game where i was completely winning, but i had an important phone call, and pauses in hope that my opponent would respect my need for the pause (ranked solo game)
I come back after 2mins and i have lost 40 vills and im in a state where i no longer can win the game.
To make the matter worse dude shit talked me and left without even a ggs...
This made me wonder if there is alot of people that dont respect the pauses, because i always let the opponent unpause themselves (unless it takes over 10 mins is my rule of thumb). Usually also ask in allchat if everything is good.
What is your opinion? Is it worth respecting the pause, or should one be rude and unpause just to win games for free?
For the lots that have commented. I did say that i needed a minute, and i was not expecting the call at all, it was from my daughters school.
Honestly i think you should either remove the ballista elephants or let them have a melee attack just as every other elephant has.
Because its and heavy, elephant, seige, it gets countered by a total of 7 different units. spearmen (they counter each other), horsemen, Knights, camel riders, war elephants, crossbows, bombards. So a unit that costs 600 resources does 20 dmg 3 flat armor against ranged is also counter by basically anything in a normal army, is fair to push on a civ, when the compared unit from other civs costs 250 resources and does 15 dmg with 55% less dmg from ranged is fair?
Did i mention that the population space is 4 to the elephant while the normal springalds only is 2.
The only thing you have that is beneficial is armor upgrades, movement speed, more health, and passive healing outside of combat.
If they had a melee attack that did 25 dmg, it would balance it out and allow you to build them instead of war elephants or with them and it would be decent at least.
Something that has annoyed me for while is the governors from tughlaq dynasty. The the governors themselves, but the fact that after you place a governor in a fort they are just stuck there and cant me moved to another fort. One miss click and if you dont realize it and you could be stuck with the wrong Governor at the wrong place unless you realize your mistake and undo it in the short 5 sec span it takes to select the governor.
I think you should be able to move them around, but maybe limit the amount of them you can have at once. The few time you can actually benefit from having all governors active at the same time is basically when you have already won the game.
Even tho this might seem like a nerf it allows the use of Bakkhar early, and then go into upgrade governor when you got blacksmith down and gotten into Castle age so you can spend all you have and upgrades and switch back or into something else. By doing this it will allow tughlaq to have a faster start into units, but still get a good eco, or go full eco boom.
Going full eco boom today feels very shit today. If you compare the eco upgrades from other civ that are way better late compared to tughlaq, you always get outscaled. Sure Tughlaqs early eco is pretty good for little effort, but the units(elephants and the upgrades) are so expensive that you need all that eco to keep up with everyone else.
So currently the best chance for tughlaq is early Agro, or mid game Agro. If it reaches late its really hard to win.
Guy on reddit asked for tips on how to improve, and found that he should probably use the relics in the future.
Giving myself shit about my shit gameplay after the fact, maybe someone can learn from my gameplay on what not to do
