Has anyone had a roommate of the opposite gender? How did it work out?

My dad lived in a rented apartment in New York City, NY, with my sister. Both he and my sister are on the lease. He had 2 joint bank accounts, one with my sister and the other with my brother. Besides the apartment and bank accounts, there is his personal property (clothes, computer, etc.). He also has a house in another state.

Since the apartment and bank accounts were jointly owned with my dad and my siblings, do they have to go through probate? Can they get access to the bank funds immediately? What about his personal property?

How do we handle the out-of-state property and its contents?

Any advice on this situation is appreciated.

We renovated our kitchen about 10 years ago. Now we want to swap out our lower cabinet shelves for drawers. Unfortunately, they discontinued the drawer fronts last year. I'm looking for 4 x 40266045 (grey, 24x10") and 4 x 40166046 (grey, 24x15"). They do have the off-white ones.

Has anyone successfully painted their drawer fronts?
