Suspicious Tata Nexon Service Bill — Need Advice from Experienced Car Owners
The day before yesterday, I took my Tata Nexon to the service centre for servicing. I’m a beginner when it comes to cars, so I wanted to understand whether something went wrong with my bill.
When they gave me the final bill, I noticed something that looked suspicious:
The price of each part was shown as ₹0 in the “Price Including Tax” column.
When I asked the service advisor about this, they said that the tax was calculated separately at the end and showed around ₹512 as tax.
However, the actual amount I paid was around ₹7,500.
In the Tata service app, my service history is also showing only ₹512 for this service, which doesn't match the ₹7,500 I actually paid.
Something similar happened in 2025 as well. I paid nearly ₹8,000, but the service history shows only around ₹4,000.
I’m confused about how the billing and service-history amount are being recorded.
Could someone experienced with Tata service centres explain what might have happened here?
Is it possible that some items/parts were billed separately or that the service history is showing only a particular component of the invoice?
I’m not accusing the service centre of anything yet. I just want to understand what the correct billing process should look like and what I should check on my invoice.
Since I’m new to car ownership, what should I verify with the service centre before accepting the bill?
Any advice or similar experiences would be really helpful. I’d rather understand my mistake (if any) and learn from it.
