Can you safely install it without much worry? Or is waiting a month for bug fixes and updates to other mods a good idea for those with lots of mods?

Every thinkpad I've ever had has had the same style of keyboard before this one and it feels MUCH worse. I'm typing on it right now and the keys feels like cheap plastic that often don't get pressed down because I guess the switches are extremely tough or something?

I got this "used" from a lot of 150 on eBay, same as every other thinkpad I've owned. It has ZERO blemishes or imperfections, basically looks unused and I don't think there is anything 'wrong' with the keyboard it just feels like crap. I routinely have to hit a key again after the first time didn't go because the keys are so stiff I have to use a lot more force than I'm used to to press them down. It's not like they're sticky or anything, they just take a lot more force than a decent keyboard switch should. If I can't hop on and type like I do any any other keyboard ever then something is not right

I can't find any other posts online about this which is strange because this keyboard sucks compared to all the others I've tried and I've used thinkpads from every level and quality.

edit: Could I replace it with a keyboard from an older broken thinkpad? I have several old thinkpads I don't use anymore

I've been getting a few songs that have sections with long open note sustains that they have other notes placed on top of the sustain and they are almost completely unreadable because of giant purple bar on top of them.

I assume there must be because why else would they chart it that way. It's completely unreadable, you can barely tell there are notes underneath it at all let alone what exactly they are.

EDIT: I figured out the best way to reduce the note count without making the notes feel wrong. You simply reduce the type of note down to the next note type/speed. (arrow key left/right switches the speed type of note you're placing)

32nd notes go to 24th, 64th go to 48th, etc. That seems to work perfectly for taking it from super fast strum bar breaking notes down to totally manageable and not arm-breaking.

And most importantly this is super easy. You can open up the notes file in any song folder directly with moonscraper and press ctrl-s to save and you're done. Any song can be fixed in 2 minutes if you know what you're doing

I recently started learning how to chart and one of the things I realized it would be useful for is editing other charts to my liking. You could switch HOPOs to tap or forced to HOPO but in my case i want to remove ultra fast, strum bar destroying fast note sections and make them just a bit slower so it won't literally break my expensive guitar in a few months of regular play.

By ultra fast I mean like the parts in Devil Went Down to Georgia near the beginning but really anything that just requires an absurd speed to hit. When I play them normally, aside from the extreme amounts of force and exertion required to hit them, I can always feel my strum bar weakening and getting strained when strumming fast enough.

any tips on how to do this most efficiently on moonscraper is appreciated. I assume copy pasting a chunk of notes after deleting the ultra fast section is the fastest way to do it.

I have a new toothbrush I was going to just use but I'm wondering if I need to make sure nothing gets into the buttons. Should I clean it upside so nothing can drip down into it or is it better to just clean it right-side up so it gets the isopropyl alcohol down in deep?

I have 91% so it should evaporate almost entirely.

How exactly do you "mess up" the ghost note combo? I even tried just hitting random buttons in between notes on slower songs and it doesn't seem to change at all.

I took the note speed from the level I've been playing at forever, note speed 9 or about hyperspeed 2 and upped it to 11 yesterday. Suddenly I could play songs that I couldn't even come close to before. Then after a day of that I decided to try note speed 13 and bam another level up. Suddenly I can play Dragonforce songs and songs that I used to barely beat I'm easily getting 5 stars on. I just spent the day beating song after song that I basically never thought I'd be able to touch, let alone get 5 stars on.

It's clear that it's because I haven't been able to parse the notes at the lower speeds when they're all clumped together in a big block of color vs the faster speeds where you can actually see the individual notes.

So give it a try, you may find you're much better than you thought at the game but your eyes/brain haven't been able to read what you're playing properly.

Edit: As someone else mentioned, you probably want to increase the Highway length as well, it's in the same options as note speed. I have it at 120%
